Yes, Trump Tops GOP Poll, But Would Lose to Hillary
Weekly Standard ^ | 07/14/2015 | Michael Warren

Businessman and TV personality Donald Trump tops the latest Suffolk University/USA Today poll of the Republican presidential primary. Trump has 17 percent support among likely GOP primary voters nationwide, edging out former Florida governor Jeb Bush with 14 percent. The remaining candidates earn support in the single digits.

But while Trump currently reigns in the primary, he would lose double-digits against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In a head-to-head match-up, Clinton would beat Trump 51 percent to 34 percent, according to the poll.

"Clinton was not as strong in matchups against other Republicans," according to the Suffolk press release. "Bush was her closest rival in a matchup that included all voters polled, trailing the former New York senator by a 4 percent margin, 46 percent to 42 percent, with 13 percent undecided. Clinton led all GOP contenders but polled below 50 percent against the top six, with the exception of Trump."

I just can’t believe that half of this country is supporting Hillary. It really makes me lose all hope.

Yup, the media is practically a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dem Party, not mention the unions, the schools, the universities, Hollyweird, and illegal immigration continues to supply an endless stream of government dependents and voters for the Democrat Party. We go into battle completely screwed on all sides.

I’d rather trump be the nominee than Jeb, at least trump is right on about at least one issue. that’s more than stupid cowardly jeb.

who, if history is any judge, would be just as likely to lose.

Trump is saying, and getting massive free media time for doing so, stuff some of the other GOP candidates are unwilling to say, or can’t get enough media play for saying.

He’s doing exactly what Conservatives need him to be doing right now, acting as a snowplow against the Democrats.

“Horrendously unlikable, enitled, arrogant person. For a moment I thought you were talking about Trump.”

I know, I know... Wow, that guy sucks. But he is saying a lot of things that need to be said. Hopefully he will just draw fire for a while, endorse Cruz and leave.

Trump has flip-flopped more than a three dollar wore on a flea bitten mattress. The media will chew him up and make him look like an amateur reality TV star.

If that true, then nobody wins against Hill. Might as well pack up and go home now. /s

When is that going to start? So far they haven’t really touched him and he is #1 in several national polls.

Where have you been?...of course they believe it...and he’s filed it all.

I’m for Cruz but I love Trumps being the “lightening rod”...that he’s proven to be.

Hillary could never keep up with Trump in a debate...she can’t hear fast enough let alone respond with anything other than... “I’ve paid my dues..I have scars to show it..I’m a fighter”...blah bah blah.

Trump has brought “air” into a very suffocating political environment ....not to mention waking up the public out of their dead sleep....you see Truth does that....and like him or not he’s speaking it.

I hope he last throughout the debates as his very presence will keep all candidates on their toes.

BTW...Trump just filed today with the FCC....done deal as reported on Fox. Worth more than 10 Billion....more than they all thought.

True. And yet he is still (currently) more correct on issues that Jeb. That says a lot too.

This poll is such a great predictor of success! Let’s look at how it measured President Romney back in 2012.

According to polls like this, President Romney was the most electable GOP candidate against Barack Obama.

Oh wait!

So far he's doing what he says...and many said he wouldn't do this. I think the turn out at Phoenix definitely spurred Trump forward...no one was as surprised as he was with the turnout.

Biased media and single-party-political-status-quo will continue to suggest/insist in every manner possible that "Bush v. Clinton" WILL happen.

Trump's candidacy and obvious popularity upsets the Chamber-of-Commerce and Wall Street investment in the GoPe. Some info to consider as prepared by TheConservativeTreehouse...:

Do you not see the media want Trump to be the repubs leader. Trumps boisterous outbursts are a natural cover for democrat screw up, and drown out all other republicans candidates.
