Donald Trump: Plant? Foil? Something’s not right
Washington Times ^ | 7/12/15 | Joseph Curl

Posted on 07/12/2015 2:35:04 PM PDT by jimbo123

What’s the deal with Donald Trump?

He can’t possibly think he has a chance against a dozen highly qualified candidates, all but one of whom have held elective office, from governor to senator, for years. He must know that after a tiny pop in the polls over the silly summer season (remember Howard Dean?), he’ll tumble back down to earth and disappear.

True, Mr. Trump couldn’t care less how embarrassing he is — to the Republican Party, sure, but also to himself. He’s an egotistical narcissist just blowing some of his $7 billion while in between tapings of his god-awful show “The Apprentice.” Might as well run for president.

But something else seems afoot. Mr. Trump is starting to look like a Democratic plant — and some top Republicans are starting to say so.

Go down to your local city council meeting with a group of citizens who don’t usually attend, and challenge the machine politics twirps who run your town.

You will then witness exactly the establishment reaction to Trump.

Well, looks like he does. He’s sure hitting it off with the people who are absolutely fed the hell up with lying politicians. Trump speaks the plain truth about the illegal alien invasion, the crowd roars their approval, the polls shift to Trump, and he has the spineless amnesty pimps of the GOPe shitting their pants.

Wishful thinking, Joe.

I suspect that many people would be more interested in the substance of Trump's arguments, and how he is forming the national debate.

Trivial and unsupported negative "predictions" are all too common for Donald Trump.

Prove otherwise.

Why is it so hard from the Trumpers to admit his Democrat past...recent past too?

I saw Jeb! on some show this morning. In countering what Trump was saying, he started listing what he considered to be the real Republican strengths, real gentle, caring stuff and he mentioned less government, etc. He said nothing about preserving the country as a traditional American entity; for him it is just an economic area populated with consumers with no particular identifying culture.

I am hoping for a Trump/Cruz ticket.

Cruz is the only candidate whom Trump has praised so far.
