In Fiery Speeches, Francis Excoriates Global Capitalism

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay — His speeches can blend biblical fury with apocalyptic doom. Pope Francis does not just criticize the excesses of global capitalism. He compares them to the “dung of the devil.” He does not simply argue that systemic “greed for money” is a bad thing. He calls it a “subtle dictatorship” that “condemns and enslaves men and women.”

Having returned to his native Latin America, Francis has renewed his left-leaning critiques on the inequalities of capitalism, describing it as an underlying cause of global injustice, and a prime cause of climate change. Francis escalated that line last week when he made a historic apology for the crimes of the Roman Catholic Church during the period of Spanish colonialism — even as he called for a global movement against a “new colonialism” rooted in an inequitable economic order.

The Argentine pope seemed to be asking for a social revolution.

Biggest laugh line in this execrable puff piece for pope-a-dope:

Even some free-market champions are now reassessing the shortcomings of unfettered capitalism. George Soros, who made billions in the markets, and then spent a good part of it promoting the spread of free markets in Eastern Europe, now argues that the pendulum has swung too far the other way.

The pope can next tout the glories of collectivism like Mao’s China and Castro’s Cuba. We’ll all end up like Venezuela. Our abject poverty will be fair as all will be the same.

If what I've read about this Pope is correct (which,I recognize,is not at *all* certain) I'll find myself completely ignoring what he has to say.I'll then be inclined to be guided by the teachings of John Paul II.

I believe that the trade we have participated in with China has been very destructive to our nation.

To the citizens of China, it has been great. To China it has been great.

So I have to wonder exactly what direction the Pope comes at this from.

I doubt he’s lamenting 40 million plus out of work in the United States. I don’t see how he could possibly think this was damaging the people of China with all the increased economic stimulation.

I think the guy is coming at it from a collectivist’s view, that Capitalism is bad and Communism is good.

If that is true, this guy’s thinking is only about 100 years out of step with history and civilization.

Catholics should denounce this dimwit or hide in shame.

Blowing smoke when this pope was selected wasn't just symbolic, it was a warning.

The pope is a Marxist not a man of God. He is a man of communism.

A pope stepping down hasn’t happened in my lifetime. How did they get Benedict to resign so they could get this guy in?

At this point, I applaud the Pope every time he shoots off his stupid, Leftist mouth. I am glad he wrote the stupid, Leftist encyclical: It documents for all time what a stupid, muddled, delusional mind he really has.

With these stupid, foaming-at-the-mouth rants all over South America Bergoglio is trashing his own reputation more effectively than anyone else possibly could.

What really matters is: How much ammunition will the CATHOLIC Cardinals have in the next Conclave against the COMMUNIST Cardinals? So, let Bergoglio yap on and on and on.

Capitalism does more for the average person than any other economic system.

a steady increase in the quantity of capital goods available,
and a continuous trend toward an improvement in the general standard of living."

Pope Che would much rather people live in poverty and depend upon the largesse of the Almighty State.

This pope is no doubt Petrus Romanus, the False Prophet who will introduce the Beast to the world.

They got their lackey into the White House, I guess the Pope was a harder nut to crack. Welcome to the modern world, the world capitalism made and then lost. Go figure.
