Curious, then just who is “Candidate Material”?

Another GOPe pandering fool?

Cruz or Trump. Our only options. The rest are too busy with their heads up minority butts.

Your post makes no sense. The Democrats MUST have the illegals over-running the electorate.

The point is that as a Republican who has watched Trump for more than a decade I know that he is not a Republican. He has supported Democrats and talked like a Democrat more than he has talked like a Republican.

Therefor let the Democrats have him. I don’t want a candidate that is with me on only one issue.

Before you jump for Trump find out his views on socialized medicine you might change your mind.

It’s good that he is bringing attention to the Illegal Alien problem but he is not candidate material. Not as a Republican anyway.

Authentic or not, candidate material or not, he's showing the rest of the Republican field the proper way to handle the lunatic left and their friends in the mainstream media. He doesn't back down from them in the face of their relentless attacks. Instead, he stands his ground, hits them back, and doesn't care if they like what he says or not. Each time he does, his poll numbers go up. The question is: does anyone else in the Republican field have the guts to follow Trump's example? Or will they continue to cower and apologize every time they say something the left doesn't like?

Cruz and Trump are the only ones that have my consideration at this point.

You’re right the Republican leadership is cowardly in the face of Obama and Trump is taking the fight over illegals straight to them but Trump is a one trick pony when it comes to other issues.

I still think he will be out by October, but this is shaping up to be a real interesting race.

Right now in Iowa, it looks like the two main contenders will be Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. Which is bad news for both sides.

At this time, I will vote for Trump because he is NOT a lying politician and he doesn’t seem to talk out of the side of his neck.
We’ve tried pols Ad Nauseam and look where we are.

Thanks for your input, but as I said I am still considering. Most politicians would have folded on the immigration issue by now. In fact, most have.

Trump got slammed, and led by standing up. I haven’t seen anyone show me leadership that I like in a long time.

By the time most candidates are in office they will be so beholden to PC and special interests that they will be a wash compared to Trump anyway. Neutered like Bush.

I think the wild card may be our best chance.

“I still think he will be out by October,”

No way is Trump going to bow out. Does anyone think that someone so focused on being a winner could even CONSIDER dropping out now, and go down in history as a LOSER?

Hernando Cortez burnt his ships on the shores of Mexico, thereby committing him and his troops to win or die.

Trump has burnt his ships on the shores of America, and he’s now totally committed to fight to the death.

It’s going to be an epic battle, watch closely, we’ll never get to see something so exciting, so American, again in our lifetimes.

My question to you was as follows and had nothing to do with Trump.

************

Curious, which other supposedly Republican candidates would you discard?

When the rest of the Republican field (or, really, any of them) starts hitting the Open Borders types (Democrats and Republicans) the way Trump is hitting them, I’ll go back to Cruz.

Right now TRUMP is the ONLY ONE keeping this issue alive. The rest of them, with the possible exception of Cruz, wishes it would just “go away”.

So, if the Republican Party wants to get me away from Trump, they know what they have to do...but I still cannot imagine them doing it.

Bush, Perry, Graham and Christy for starters.

I have not been a big supporter of Trump, but after watching his recent interviews I would say to you he is not a one-issue conservative.
