I like the flag. Very homespun!
With the complete support of the GOP.
I’ve wondered the same thing for decades, and suppose by 1970 had they been able to see the end result they would have thrown their guns down and walked away.
1865- End of The Beginning AND Beginning of The End
BTW, I am a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and do genealogy. When researching one of my ancestors, a cousin told me a story about one of my relatives (brother of my g-grandfather). She said that it was just for me. I was never to publish it; the “family” is still embarrassed about it (that was 20 years ago, 130+ years after The War’s end). The War is still very meaningful for some Southerners.
Vanderbilt met their Waterloo with the UDC over Confederate Hall. When demands were made that they chisel the name off and rename the building, the school agreed to do so. However the UDC’s attorney reminded Vanderbilt the name was in stone not only on the building but in legally binding documents agreed to when Vanderbilt accepted the donations of the organization and so the name remains.
I have a feeling the statues and other things may not be as easy to remove as those in opposition think they will be. The ladies of the UDC had very good legal representation all those many years ago.
Reminds me of Islamist historical eradication campaigns.
The Administration and leftist just couldn’t get blacks riled up enough to cause mass unrest, so now poking Southern whites to cause race wars.
IN reality, the people who need to be dealt with are the elites of the administration and the leftist soros bats. These people need to be put on trial for their treasons against our country.
