You’re right, my mistake! They’re even more useless!
Who knows? He’s a showman, a wildcatter entrepreneur showman. Barnum & Bailey, Chuck Barris and any other flamboyant egotist you might think of.
If the question is meant to infer some sort of nefarious Democrat scheme, I don’t know to what purpose. If I were a Democrat, the very last thing I’d do is insert the Donald into the opposition’s campaign mix and headline it with the truth the biggest single act of sabotage ever perpetrated on this country. That being the sustained effort to legalize illegals and hid it all under the guise of “immigrant rights”.
Bingo. So it's best to not ride on his train.
We still don’t have all the candidates in the race. Once we start getting into the debates we can poo poo so and so. Till then I think The Donald is doing America a big favor by shining a bright light on a huge problem our so-called leaders refuse to deal with. The author should read this op-ed below.

No matter how much they say to the contrary, the media, business and political elite understand that Trump is no joke. He could actually win and upset their nice cozy apple cart.
Its no coincidence that everyone has gotten together to destroy The Donald. No, this is a coordinated conspiracy led by President Barack Obama himself. Obama himself is making the phone calls and giving the orders; hes the ultimate intimidator who plays by the rules of Chicago thug politics.

THE DONALD whacked Jonah the other day by saying he couldn’t afford a new pair of trousers. ha ha ha ha ha ha
So Jonah Goldberg comes up with this jive. Pathetic!
An outstanding article. While it’s fun and entertaining to watch Trump excoriate supporters of amnesty and open borders (and they need excoriating), what will soon have to be addressed is whether conservatives really want a pro-single-payer, pro-Kelo, self-promoting Friend of Bill and Hillary at the top of the GOP ticket.
It’s still relatively early in the game, but eventually voters will start focusing on the candidates and issues. And in an America that’s sliding more toward socialism, a billionaire simply isn’t going to be elected President.
You present Trump as a victim - you need to reevaluate.
If you mean by “not ride his train” as vote for him, I’ve said here a lot that I wouldn’t vote for him. By the same token, I won’t trash him or his supporters.
All of this will burn out when the media and Democrats realize he’s touched a hot button with a lot of people in this country who have so far been largely silent, and they will shut up. At that point, Trump loses his edge.
> in an America thats sliding more toward socialism, a billionaire simply isnt going to be elected President.
So much bs.
I expressed these sentiments long before Donald Trump announced his campaign but I was not alone, many conservatives have read Donald Trump right from the beginning. But Jonah Goldberg misses the point.
Conservatives and disillusioned Americans are not flocking to Donald Trump because he will cure what is wrong with the Democrats' governance, they are desperate to find someone as an antidote to elitist, statist one-party rule waxing more intrusive than tyrannical every day. The Republican Party in Washington was given Congress to stop Obama care and, as one FReeper has already observed, gave us Obama trade instead.
The wreckage of the Republican Party is not the work of Donald Trump, it is the work of John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, George Bush and Karl Rove and many others who are considerably wealthier today than when they started.
Jonah Goldberg, where were you when we were being sold out?
I favor Trump with Scott Walker close behind. But I think Trump has a much better chance of beating Hillary and ending up as President.
Goldberg has a burr in his butt; admits Trump makes him crazy.
I remember the Lewinsky Chronicles and Lucianne Goldberg. About that time is when I recall having first seen/heard of her son. Usually when they were paired on some show about the scandal.
It’s funny how notoriety and fame propels indistinct people to the limelight. Woodward & Bernstein as a couple of news paper hacks rocketed to superstardom on their side, and others on the conservative side with equally ignoble beginnings.
I “mean”.... as so many are doing (for many varied reasons) - carry him on their shoulders, elevate him.
When he gets nowhere, all his dirty laundry and past positions will be fitted to hang on the Republican field - fair or not, because that’s what the MSM does.
Trump is addressing the elephant in the room. US citizens are sick of being pushed aside for ILLEGAL immigration. We are sick of paying for them, we are sick of seeing them treated as royalty, and we are sick of seeing politicians pander non-stop for them.
You sound like a parrot for John McCain - you need to reevaluate.
If the media didn’t want him to win the nomination they would ignore him and we know how this ends.
Which makes Donald Trump an opportunist, not a hero.
“The people, maybe you too, who are frantic at Trump for speaking the truth are living a lie.”
Really now.. which is telling the truth...
1. The Trump who says it’s time to restore America and the human spirit.. or the Trump who attempted to eject a widow from her family’s boarding house because he coveted that space for limo parking?
2. The Trump who says to close the border and stop the taking by illegals of American jobs... or the Trump whose corporation has illegals doing construction work for it?
3. The Trump who makes the claim to be a conservative, or the Trump who has repeatedly praised “universal health care?”
So who again is “living a lie?”
He's just venting at the "fall in line" Washington establishment, to which you and Krauthammer belong. He's not going along to get along!
