Sorry to say, but abortion is not the #1 issue for the 2016 election.

Abortion is the worst; it’s murder. However, until people’s hearts are changed, abortion will be a choice many people will take.

People’s hearts can’t change unless they hear and believe the Gospel. If politicians are intent on annihilating Christianity, and they are, the Gospel won’t be heard and hearts won’t change. We need a president and politicians who will honor the Constitution 100% and return religious freedom to America.

Fix the root cause, and good change will occur. Slowly, I’m sure, and probably not in my lifetime.

We should be thankful that he's at least nominally pro-life. Since his change was in 2011 and since it's not foremost on his mind, it's understandable. He's intelligent enough to know this is an important issue for millions of voters (to say nothing of babies).

We'd do well to remember he's from New York, he's a pop culture icon, a man of the world, and change is welcomed...

All that said, I'm still suspicious of him and his motives and watching him carefully on all the issues.

Why put a "half-baked" sorta conservative like Donald Trump in the POTUS chair, when you already have a perfectly good, committed, and complete conservative like Ted Cruz ready, able, and available?

It's odd how little respect you folks who claim to support Cruz have for Ted's judgment. He has praised Trump and pointedly refrained from piling on as almost every other jaybird in the US with a microphone or opinion column has.

Ted doesn't see anything to be gained by trashing Trump. Maybe some of you who claim to support Ted should give his judgment and conclusions concerning Trump some thought.

Yes. That is the interview section I had listened to that raised the questions for me about what Trump was saying.

When he says the “no” in response to abortion early in pregnancy, that ‘no’ is a rejection of the question. That’s pretty clear because he follows up with rape/incest/life of mother as the only exceptions.

That’s when the interviewer comes back in a different way with the same question about a woman who just chooses to have an abortion and is not in one of the 3 exceptions.

That’s when Trump says, “it depends when”. Then he’s interrupted again, and then he reiterates his position allows acceptance only of the 3 exceptions.

What does it all mean? The only sense I can make of the 2nd exchange is (1) that Trump is correcting himself, or (2) he sees a separate standard between an abortion that’s happening anyway and an abortion that he falls into one of his categories.

Ted isn't stating that Trump is great on every issue, just Immigration.

If you were saved when you were 8 years old then God changed your heart.

If God changed your heart, you know that killing unborn babies, no matter how they were conceived is sinful.

If it is sinful, you are obligated to fight against it since it is also called murder in the Bible and is one of the 10 commandments.

As such, it IS THE PRIORITY where your objectives are concerned, both secularly and spiritually.

If it is the PRIORITY, then it has to be a priority in your politics, because as far as our Lord is concerned, his laws are to be applied across all facets of our life.

As such, this is part of "spreading the Gospel".

Quit trying to compartmentalize your approach to your Christian experience. God is not pleased.

Christians should want to elect another Christian. Look at what we have now and the fight he and democrats are waging against Christian values in America. Would electing a lifelong liberal like Donald Trump correct that path? Not likely.

It's happened. Years ago a friend approached me and told me she briefly dated her employer and became pregnant. She wanted an abortion and asked me for help. It was a tough decision for her but Mrs. 40 and I talked her out of it. Today she is very proud of her 22 year old son, a medical student, and bears the burden of just how close she came to ending his life.
