The Republican Party will continue to lose presidential elections if it comes across as mean-spirited and unwelcoming toward people of color, Donald Trump tells Newsmax.
Whether intended or not, comments and policies of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates during this election were seen by Hispanics and Asians as hostile to them, Trump says.
Republicans didnt have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians, the billionaire developer says.
The Democrats didnt have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they werent mean-spirited about it, Trump says. They didnt know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.
Romneys solution of self deportation for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.
He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal, Trump says. It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote, Trump notes. He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.
The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country, Trump says.

But I want to ask all the Trump supporters: Are you okay with voting for someone who said this in 2012?
Because if you are, I don't want to hear one damn word about Walker, or Jindal, or anyone else "changing their spots" on immigration.
Check out the Trump quotes in this article. Well worth bookmarking.
As someone who has followed Trump for nearly 40 years now, this is nothing new. He’s all over the place on issues. I’m enjoying his time in the national spotlight but this constant change in attitudes is nothing new. I’m hoping Cruz will rise in the polls...
I guess he found out otherwise when his first attempt sporting the liberal Donald mask went nowhere fast.
Well the milque toast approach didn’t work too well for the GOP in 2008 and 2012 so I’d say mimicking the mean spirited Democrat scorched earth approach may be the way to go.
Every candidate who ran as an unapologetic hard right conservative WON last time
it is mostly the wimps and pussies who lost
From another thread today. “America is filled with people who probably expect to go with Rubio, Walker, Cruz or some other big name, but are thoroughly enjoying Donalds current show.”
The difference between Donald Trump and pols like Walker, Jindal, Rubio, Bush, etc. is that Donald Trump is willing to be honest when talking about the GOPe. All those others are creatures of the GOPe who are tasked with taking out the one, true Conservative candidate - Ted Cruz.
If Ted gets kneecapped out of the race, then I say, let’s bring on Donald Trump full-bore as a third party candidate and let’s stick a fork into the GOPe for once and for all.
He spoke truth and I’m supposed to have a problem with truth?
Trump is a conservative like Lena Dunham is a Playboy model.
I assume this is the truth Trump spoke, with which you don't have a problem.
Not unlike the Trump-ites....
When was the last time we had a mean-spirited candidate?
I may be wrong, but I don’t see a contradiction between not wanting to be inundated with illegal immigrants and wanting to get control of our border and the situation. What he’s complaining about is the habit of the GOP to come off like a disembodied sugared voice behind a Chinese restaurant saying “here kitty kitty kitty”, and you are the cat!
Well, if you take Trump at his word, Romney was definitely too mean spirited.
Not sure how to post this as its own article, figure another Friend will if there is interest.
Donald Trump is slated to be on the radio after the 7:00 news on Broomheads show.
So you are OK with Trump’s comments as posted? Yes or no?
Self deportation didn’t sound feasible. You are asking “yes or no” on less when we’ve heard some of what Trump is against, but precious little of what he is actually for.
