The head of the Republican National Committee, responding to demands from increasingly worried party leaders, spent nearly an hour Wednesday on the phone with Donald Trump, urging the presidential candidate to tone down his inflammatory comments about immigration that have infuriated a key election constituency.
The call from Chairman Reince Priebus, described by donors and consultants briefed on the conversation and confirmed by the RNC, underscores the extent to which Trump has gone from an embarrassment to a cause for serious alarm among top Republicans in Washington and nationwide.

The “Republican” Image is Democrat. That needs to change.
The GOP gives us “leaders” like Gov. Mike Pence, who sells out something as important as religious liberty as soon as some leftist CEO says, “Boo.” I’m not a fan of Trump but I can understand his appeal when the Republican party has become nothing more than the pass-around slut for big corporations.
What is a Republican leader?
And Trump is staining that image.
Priebus is not the answer. And the GOPe has no clue what the question is to begin with.
I don’t lke Trump as the nominee, but he is doing God’s work hewing down the rino koffee clatch.
Trump couldn’t hurt the GOP-E image anymore than Priebus has with his attacks on Conservatives and pandering to the democrats and leftist. I’m still a Republican most of those who call themselves republicans are now something else. PORP

Trump is a clown but the Boehner/McConnell/McCain section of the GOP ruined the GOP brand long before Trump came along.
