Sen. Sessions: City Officials Harboring Illegal Felons Could Be Charged (stop federal monies now)

Sen. Jeff Sessions (Rep-Ala) told The Daily Caller Tuesday that city officials that defy federal immigration laws could be charged with crime for not informing officials about felons the city is harboring. Sessions believes it is time for Congress to say that if cities and counties that if they do not cooperate with Congress and federal law enforcement, they should not get federal money from Washington. "To me, it’s just unthinkable — as a US attorney, I had a bunch of cities and every day holds are filed. So many criminals have committed crimes in multiple jurisdictions,” Sessions said.

Sessions remarks comes on the heels of the shooting of Kathryn Steinle, a 32-year-old who died last Wednesday after a five-time deported Mexican national, Francisco Sanchez, fatally shot Steinle in San Francisco. San Francisco, known for its decades-old sanctuary city status, only allows holds on felons with violent records. Sanchez, according to local reports had multiple felonies but no major violent crime convictions in recent years. “There has to be a recognition that a sanctuary city which San Francisco became decades ago with the Salvadoran relief. That was about persecuted people that may not have proper status being given sanctuary,” California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa told The Daily Caller. “Convicted felons that have been previously deported and who were incarcerated under the care and control of a city, county, or a state—they have an obligation and their obligation cannot allow this so-called sanctuary city. San Francisco flagrantly defied any sense of responsibility for a known violent criminal,” Issa said.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a law in 2013 restricting circumstances under when individuals who are arrested could be placed in federal immigration detainers or holds. As a result, The La Times notes, other cites and counties nationwide stopped cooperating with ICE detainer requests, when a federal judge ruled an Oregon county violated one illegal immigrant’s Fourth Amendment rights by detaining her without probable cause. “This disregarding of detainers and releasing persons that ICE has put a hold on — it goes against all traditions of law enforcement. Laws and courtesies within departments — if you have somebody charged with a crime in one city, you hold them until you complete your business with them,” Sessions said.

“The other city wants to charge them with an important crime files a detainer and when you’re finished, they’re sent to the next one to face the charges there. They’re not released,” he added noting that another city, which may be looking for the fugitive will have to go look for the criminal again and spend thousands doing so, while the fugitive may “murder somebody in the interim.” Sessions explained, “So what was happening was, ICE authorities were filing detainers and sanctuary cities were saying, ‘We’re not gonna honor them. They finished paying for the crime they committed in our city — we’ve released them.’”

FWIW, Jeff Sessions consistently is the voice of sanity. The pretend conservatives we elected to the US Senate should be following his lead, if they were at all serious about their campaign rhetoric.

Could be. Should be. But never will be. The Federals and their Just-us Dept. will never co anything to upset their
golden geese. The ones that just keep on laying those little
gold pieces into their accounts.

If jurisdictions may ignore federal laws, then let’s ignore the ones we don’t like.

That is what is being done by ignoring federal immigration law.

So, let’s ignore what we don’t like. We’re a nation of laws or we aren’t. If we aren’t, then why are we following laws that we don’t like?

Both the mayor of SF and the local sheriff there are accessories to murder because of their actions involving the release of that convicted felon illegal alien that murdered that innocent pedestrian.

I wonder at what point Senator Sessions and the minority in Congress who seem to want to do something positive for the country, are going to realize that none of this is going to happen unless they replace McConnell and Boehner?

If they don’t replace them, look for the Senate to go back to the Dems and the House will have many more Dems as well next election.

Could be charged? With King Obama and his communists empire controlling America? Not a chance. Maybe when Cruz becomes President and he fires the communists Administration it will happen.

While I have no animosity toward Sessions, I will pay attention to what he says when I hear the cell door clank shut on the upper executives, politicians and law enfarcement of the city of San Francisco, at some Federal lockup five states away.

The stench from these sanctuary cities is fouling the air and turning America into a lawless Third World hellhole. There's more ways than one to skin these sanctuary cities. Read on, FReepers.

A muni-bond expert recently exposed city bond financing schemes as a house of cards (Chicago). Examining city bond documents uncovered taxpayers were royally rooked---and were paying billions for:

<><> greedy politicians' shady financial legerdemain,

<><> including using long-term financing to cover day-to-day expenses,

<><> using bonds to pay pension obligations, and,

<><> misappropriating returns from the interest rate swap portfolio as a free-for-all “ATM” for pols.

Bonding is eternal taxation. Insider deals bonding companies made w/ shady pols to get sanctuary city bonding business would tell a tale of greedy pols accumulating riches through massive govt corruption.

If these sanctuary city bonding deals were effectuated by way of referendum at the ballot box----and misled investors into buying tax-fee muni bonds----the SEC would be interested.

Massive govt corruption in sanctuary cities might include forgery, falsification of official records, fraudulent state budget entries, tax evasion, illegal wire-transfers, misuse of public office.

Tax-exempt municipal bond investors (including public education bond investors)-- have legal grounds to sue if they were deceived about deceptive bond offerings.

In many cases, bond issues are approved by voters---at the ballot box--so that voters may have also been misled WRT uses of fraudulent bond offerings.

Also culpable are:

<><> bonding companies underwriting possible fraudulent sanctuary city bond issues;

<><> banks holding possibly fraudulent sanctuary city bond proceeds;

<><> State/city's modus operandi in allocating tax-exempt bond proceeds,

<><> third parties accepting fraudulent sanctuary city bond proceeds.

<><> sanctuary city vendors accepting fraudulent bond proceeds.

<><> publicly-funded sanctuary city agencies advocating the uses of fraudulent bond proceeds.

===========================================

The SEC, FBI, banking overight agencies, and the IRS, would be interested in the activities of sanctuary city entities WRT bonding.

EMAIL---FBI TIPS PAGE https://tips.fbi.gov

EMAIL--enforcement@SEC.gov

Contact the IRS Fraud Unit

EMAIL Banking oversight agencies

============================================

Taxpayers should find out which sanctuary city banks are facilitating this.

<><> Which banks are designated the repositories of sanctuary city tax dollars.
<><> Which banks are dispensing sanctuary city tax-exempt bond proceeds.

==============================================

Now if sanctuary city officials and govt agencies: <><> used the US mail to perpetrate these schemes, <><> solicited funds for then diverted bond proceeds to another purpose.....the charge is mail fraud.
