Obama administration to unveil major new rules targeting segregation across U.S.

CHICAGO -- When the Fair Housing Act was passed in 1968, it barred the outright racial discrimination that was then routine. It also required the government to go one step further — to actively dismantle segregation and foster integration in its place — a mandate that for decades has been largely forgotten, neglected and unenforced.

Now, on Wednesday, the Obama administration will announce long-awaited rules designed to repair the law’s unfulfilled promise and promote the kind of racially integrated neighborhoods that have long eluded deeply segregated cities like Chicago and Baltimore. The new rules, a top demand of civil-rights groups, will require cities and towns all over the country to scrutinize their housing patterns for racial bias and to publicly report, every three to five years, the results. Communities will also have to set goals, which will be tracked over time, for how they will further reduce segregation.

If they value their jobs and money more than the lives of their wives, husbands and children, I really have no pity for them. It sucks that thats the way it is but thats the way it is. Either leave these rathoules, suburban ratholes included, or wait to be robbed, raped and killed at the hands of liberals.

There are many New England towns filled with liberals that are among the safest in the nation. Madison WI is another example. It's gotta be some other factor.

"Seems to me that Fed-zilla can only regulate and threaten States (of which cities are a part). Cities can ignore this regulation unless it comes down from their respective State."

States feed at the federal trough for all sorts of funding, and funding will be cut off if the states do not dance to the feds' tune.

"When they run out of money, this will stop. What’ll become of the section 8 residents in cold Minneapolis in winter if the government can’t pay for heat?"

In Obama' new Amerika, they will put them in your house.

I’m from next door to Vermont originally. Those safe little paradises are rampant with domestic abuse and drug addiction. That never makes the papers much.

They just don’t get city level riots and murders. But then they are thousands vs millions in population.

Liberalism is the only cause you need to look at because it fits EVERY ONE of the facts. I defy anyone to find a crime issue or any bad issue that does not have a liberal and liberalism as the source.

A N Y.

“Some” communities can pay to not have forced integration as you said. The most affluent ones won’t be affect, since they have ‘connections’.

While OTHER communities will be forced, no matter what. How GM closed its dealerships came to mind. (Depends on the past political donations to Dems or Repubs). So those communities will soon be integrated forcibly, there’d no Republican (esp. conservative) strongholds.

Even the liberals want to be able to live their lives in peace.

No they don’t because no liberal wants peace. That’s part of why they are liberal. If they wanted to live in peace they would have to be something other than the people creating strife.

Sadly, crime happens ANYWHERE because of OUR FALLEN HUMAN NATURE regardless if you have liberals or conservatives living there or not.

And that is a FACT.

All you have to do is visit a grocery store in a mostly white neighborhood and one near projects. The former has all the carts in cart corral and the parking lot is clean. The other’s parking lot is littered with diapers, garbage and the carts are left out everywhere.

Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
