My maternal grandfather played the (French) horn in Rosso’s band, which was the Italian-American version of John Philip Sousa’s band.

Survey says I should play the drums, but in reality, I should stick with playing my iPod. God blessed me with many talents, but musicalilty was not one of them.
At 69, I think I will pass. With arthritic fingers, tendonitis in my shoulders and tinnitus ... my music days are long over ... now I just enjoy my memories (as long as they last), and listen to the music I used to play. No regrets.

I got guitar and I do play guitar. Started pecussion, piano when I was 6. Moved on to drums when I was 12. Tympani and French Horn in the high school band. Also started guitar and did the ‘60’s garage band stuff, mostly Beach Boys and whatever was hot at the time.
But growing up listening to Gospel and real Country I was forever draw to that and it’s where I am today.
I’ve had lots of guitars, Mosrite, Fender and more but my favorite is a Silvertone I bought for $7 in 2006. Laminated but after I set it up it sounds fine.
I’m passable at best and am fingerstyle...picking...but I have my moments.
IIRC I have 70 or more YouTube videos.

Except I was never that great a musician, even though I have a great appreciation for it. I think because I was lazy. :)

Well, I am envious of her talent! I played in the community band for several years, but when I started working, I didn’t have time for it. Also, our band director...the most patient man in the world!...moved back to NY. I regret that I didn’t stick with it.
