Not sure how this will play out.
Chris Christie will veto the bill even if it passes the NJ legislature.
Now, the question is do the Dems have the numbers to override the Christie veto?

Cristie spent over $175,000 on a lying attack add to knock Tom Tancredo out of the primary election in Colorado election for Governor. Karma?

It should be that way for any candidate running for elective FED office: House, Senate, White House.
Any candidate for such elective FED office must resign from any elective position before he/she can run.
Too many senators, for example, have spent half their term missing legislative activities while seeking the presidency.

Isn’t this the state which broke election laws to keep a ‘Rat on the ballot for US Senate — when the ‘Rat in the race died?

the difference between the ‘RATS and GOP in a nutshell.
the ‘RATS never play fair. they will do whatever they can to win.
the GOP never resorts to these tactics. so they are always at a disadvantage. they are the stupid party.
we need 100 Lee Atwaters right about now. we have 0.

Senators and Representatives spend a huge amount of time fund raising and running for their own reelection.

>>>are likely to cosponsor legislation that would require Christie and future New Jersey governors to resign from office if they want to run for president<<<
The minute they Elect a Democrat Governor in New Jersey, the Law will be repealed. Bank on it.

If he announces his candidacy prior to enactment, and thus is already an active candidate, would this not constitute an ex post facto law?

Really? So our field should be Jeb, Patacki and Huckabee? No Cruz, Walker, Rubio, Jindal or Paul? Only washed up hacks from an old generation?
