Donald Trump says if he's elected president, he'd let undocumented workers who are productive stay in the United States, but if they just sponge off the system and don't contribute ... he'd have them deported. Trump tells TMZ, he'd create a "system of merit," saying people here illegally should have "a road to legal status" if they work hard and contribute to the country.
Trump also says no one really knows how many people are in the U.S. illegally -- he cites different stats that show the figure is somewhere between 11 and 30 million. Trumps says it's unrealistic and inhumane to attempt to deport all of them. Thus, the merit system. He says many undocumented workers are "hardworking people" who deserve a chance to live the American dream.
The candidate was not specific about the criteria for being "productive," but he was specific that people who don't pay their freight over a period of time have no place here.
He also believes criminals and other "bad ones" should be thrown out.

No. Most of us are willing to base our decisions on the data in front of us. Up till now, I’ve liked everything I’ve heard from Trump on immigration. I don’t like this. There have been posters here have been trashing Trump for all the right things he’s said on the issue prior to this.
So far, every candidate running has done or said something I don’t agree with. There are some, like Bush, Christie, Paul, and Graham, that I would never vote for. There is no perfect candidate, but some are better than others. When it comes time to vote, I will weight the pros and cons of each candidate and decide then.
“..abortion is the single issue I decide on before anything else, ..”
Me too.
When our country is murdering over a million unborn babies each year, I’m surprised everyone doesn’t have the life issue as their litmus test.
It is difficult to tell if a politician is genuinely pro life or not. If the politician is a man, you have to look at his wife and children for the answer. Americans tend to be a lot more pro comfort and convenience than they are pro life.
Rick Santorum has seven children. :)
I feel that Cruz, Walker, Jindal, Santorum, Rubio and Huckabee are strongly prolife, but I only like Cruz, Walker, Santorum and Jindal’s stands on most other issues.
As of now Cruz, Walker and Santorum are at the top of my list, and Jindal is close. However, that is subject to change, as I keep studying all the candidates.
I would like to spearhead a illegal invader, self repatriation impetus campaign.
Without divulging details, I will say that when it is complete, it will appear as though a Mexican rapture has taken place. :)
I liked some of Trump's earlier, truthful comments on illegal immigration, but I never liked Trump. Stories like this illustrate why: on the issues, Trump is an opportunist. He'll take a hard line on immigration one day if it stirs up some controversy, then change his tune if that puts him back in the limelight. Kind of like his history of political donations: he'll grease the palms of Democrats and Republicans depending on whatever is convenient at the time.
Which isn't to say I'm much impressed with the rest of the 20+ candidates seeking the nomination either.
I am from ze agency of productive work, ve are here to observe you and see if you are a candidate to stay in Amerika....
