Republican presidential hopefuls have been dumping on Donald Trump for his comments on immigration and how so many illegal immigrants commit other crimes. Ted Cruz isn’t one of Trump’s critics. On Friday he was asked for comment on “Meet the Press” and said he wasn’t interested in “Republican on Republican violence.” He went on, according to the Washington Times:
When Mr. Todd asked Mr. Cruz if rhetoric matters, Mr. Cruz responded, I salute Donald Trump for focusing on the need to address illegal immigration. The Washington cartel doesnt want to address that, Mediaite reported.
Mr. Cruz admitted that Mr. Trump has a colorful way of speaking and said that was not the way he would speak, but added that he would not engage in the medias game of throwing rocks and attacking other Republicans. (Read More)
Media types and politicians are all offended by Trump’s comments, but most normal people I’ve spoken to aren’t bothered by it. One person asked “What has he said that isn’t true?” That’s a good question.

I really do support Cruz. He’s my guy and I’ll vote for him if he’s on the ballot. I swear. But with all due respect, the “problem” isn’t ‘immigration’ insomuch as it is and “invasion” by illegals.
Take care of that, and then address undue “refugee” status visas, H1-Bs and all the rest. But 20-50 million extant illegals are the main problem.
Has Trump said he would repeal Obamacare?
My dream ticket is Palin/Cruz but I would be happy with Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz
If it is Jeb, I am writing-in Palin/Cruz
” The Washington cartel doesnt want to address that, “
Cartel is a good way of putting it.
I don’t know. I really don’t consider Donald as serious. I like the interloper truth-teller thing and I think it is forcing the slate of 30 Republican candidates to pick a side. It helps in telling who’s a spineless RINO AFAIC so that’s good.
If it is Jeb, I’m staying home, frankly. I won’t be a party to this crap any more.
The left (and I include many in the GOP) has been successful in conflating immigrants and illegal aliens.
The immigration system isn’t broken, millions have used the path to citizenship that we already have.
It’s those who ignored that path that are illegal aliens and the refusal of the government to enforce the laws that are the real problem.
Cartel is the perfect word.
He’s using it often and I either laugh or smile widely.
CRUZ TO THE TOP!
I’m with you!
—...but most normal people Ive spoken to arent bothered by it...—
This a little ‘dig’ that ‘Meet the Depressed’ probably didn’t catch. IOW, the msm are not normal people.
Couldn’t have said it better Mr. Cruz.
Here’s a man interested in doing the right thing for America, as opposed to procuring his own power, like so many others obviously do.
Bravo to Ted for routinely calling out the inside the Beltway crowd on their traitorous ways.
They do that purposefully as an obfuscation tactic and one that gives the typical legal Hispanic some distress at attitudes that are falsely contorted to denigrate them personally.
It’s a despicable tactic and we are allowing the lexicon of the narrative to be bastardized in favor of liberals who only want votes without consideration of the impact.
Well, that’s certainly true. There is no semblance of normalcy, equivalence with normal Americans (or even empathy with) or morals-based ideals with these DC pundits and featherbedders.
They are all in this for their own selves - for influence, notoriety, popularity on the gala party circuit and money. Spineless, wretched human beings (I use this term wantonly recklessly in this case).
After the Civil War, Washington threw millions of former slaves into American society.
This was done with minimal social assistance and it took decades and decades for former slaves to assimilate and get out of the underclass status.
It was good that they were no longer slaves and the other good thing was, America was STILL expanding West... lot’s of development, lots of space.
However, we are as far as we're going to go now and the explosion of ‘development’ is slowed, because of the current economy.
NOW Washington is repeating the same mistake by ‘importing’ an entirely new and alien element here and casting them adrift into American life.
Sure there is ‘assistance’ but that will NEVER be enough for a group that refuses to assimilate or who are incapable of assimilating... and who are only HERE to flop on the US system ... with NO Intention whatsoever of EARNING or deserving what they receive.
What would you be looking for to convince you that Donald Trump is ‘serious’?
Also, there are several others who have thrown their hat into the ring as well. Do you regard all of them as ‘serious’, or are there some of whom you think are merely playing games?
If so, who might those be?
Sorry, but there isn’t anything he can do or say at this point to convince me. I’ve been around longer than he has and I am not ever going to change my opinion about him.
That said, for me there are only two candidates for whom I’d vote. They are Cruz and Walker. The others are cause enough to make me stay home.
It goes far beyond just refusing to address the issue. Most in DC are actively abetting the invasion.
Well he's been for universal (single payer) for much of his adult life. He has criticized Obama Care, but it's not clear where he's going with it.
They need to be slammed. Traitors.
“Sorry, but there isnt anything he can do or say at this point to convince me”
No need to be sorry.
I wasn’t pushing for or against Trump. I was just wondering what criteria you used to determine if someone is serious or not. You are far from the only one to say that.
Also, there are many others who have said they’re running for President. But we know that some of them really have about a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination, much less getting a campaign off the ground. Yet nobody says those people aren’t serious.
I was just curious as to why.
