But as Mephistopheles said in “Faust,” “As many as I’ve buried, there’s always a new, fresh brood. It’s enough to drive you crazy.”

Bush had 4.5% unemployment after 4 years. Obama had 10% unemployment.

"She said, “It’s been a terrible nine years dealing with Bush’s economy he handed off."

Wow. It's incredulous she is STILL blaming Bush, when it was nothing he did economically to cause the real estate boom and bust that spread throughout the financial world.

It has been proven time and again that Bill Clinton along with his co-horts in Congress (think Barney Frank) pushed the lenders to make unsustainable loans for years. It's a fact. Hell, you could almost be homeless and get a loan because the Fedgov had been long strong-arming lenders. No or little down payments; work history not significant; salary barely okay; no assets also okay. Am I the only one who remembers that was the catalyst for the meltdown in 2008?

I've bought quite a few properties going back to mid-80's and the "evil" bankers always wanted enough security to make sure I could make the monthly payments. However,in the late 80's and 90's the lenders had no choice but to give anyone who had a job a loan (even menial) to appease DC.

I saw directly how that the ignorant liberal policies in DC was leading to a major bust in the real estate market. After we got married and my wife moved in, I suggested she sell her property while at the top of the bubble, rather than renting as she was thinking. She sold and made enough to send her daughter to 4 years of college. I couldn't believe at the time how much she got for an old 3 bedroom house in a lower middle-class neighborhood. Now it's worth a third of what she sold it for. And we all know how many thousands upon thousands have lost their properties due to negative amortization.

If Hillary continues to bring this up meetings, publications, in the debates, whoever on our side needs to remind her the bubble in real estate started under Billy's watch in the Oral Office.

Of course if it's a GOPe, he/she will only play nice. If it's Curz or Walker, than maybe we will see the long knieves come out. The rest of the pack, including Rubio and Paul, are just too wishy-washy or don't truly subscribe to conservative principles.

So Bill went to Dartmouth?

I'm sure Bubba visited lots of college's co-ed dorms in his day; for collegiate educational purposes, of course.

The Economy crashed and burned in the spring of 2000 during the Tech Bust. We have been in a Depression ever since and all that has happened is to poor more Debt on the Economic Fire.

We are headed to a Collapse of some kind and it won’t be pretty. No one in Congress or the White House will grapple with the monumental Debt and Deficit we have and without spending cuts, balancing the budget, and most importantly paying down the Debt we have no chance. And right now there is no common sense or relief on the horizon.

Don’t kid yourself the real unemployment rate, U6, was worse than that.

850 is a crowd? You can get a bigger turnout for a park district soccer game. Hillary is fading fast.

Ted Cruz must have had 300+ for a book signing in Arlington, TX this past Thursday...with little advance publicity...during a work day before a federal holiday...

The mention of Jeb or any other GOPe candidate prompted the term "third party." The Pubbies have spit on their base since Mississippi, and we, like Elvis, have left the arena.

When is Hilary going to take a question from a reporter?

If this continues through the general, I hope the Republican candidate boycotts the press, too.

"There's just a pattern here, where the other side continues to use the same old tired policies. They don't work and then Democrat presidents have to come in and fix what was broken," Clinton said.

Obama is a Republican?

Does anyone wonder what those tired policies are?

Why don't those policies work?

Why will your policies fare differently from those of the Republicans and Obama?

An aside: Hillary's speeches lack crisp points, carefully crafted sentences, and specifics. She is targeting her core constituency, the low information voter. I'll add that Hillary doesn't have a clue how the economy works.

Here is a jobs workup I created from government labor data:

It covers government and private sector jobs.

I broke the numbers out every four years, in January, the inauguration month.

I was attempting to lampoon Clinton with a hypothetical based on the article, but that's how idiotic they are. My problem with Bush is that he had a Congressional majority to address this with. They did nothing. Failing that he could have at least warned against the coming doom, to get on the right side of the issue. He didn't do that either. So ultimately, he takes his lumps for those two reasons. Yes it was Clinton, Frank, and even an intern Obama that was involved forcing lending institutions into terrible loan territory. As much as I would like to lay this at the feet of the Left, why didn't Congress address this? Once again, both parties were in the wrong.

Granted courts had sided with what caused the fiasco, but Congress could have acted. Early in the 2000s, they could have avoided the 2008 crash. They didn't, and it really rubs me the wrong way.

I had relatives who cashed out at the right time also. Good for them.

Glad you two came out alright on it.

Back then Dartmouth would have still been all-male, so a visit from Bubba would have been interesting.

Something fishy at Dartmouth?...The Valley News had a story that the Hildabeast was changing the location of her campaign stop Friday....

“Hanover — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has changed the location of the venue for her campaign stop today, moving it from a private home in Hanover to the Bema, a wooded natural amphitheater off Observatory Road on the Dartmouth College campus.

Clinton campaign spokesman Harrell Kirstein said the new venue was chosen “due to the large local interest” in the event,...”

According to online information from Dartmouth, the Bema has a capacity for 4,000 people.

So, the Beast was planning a visit to a private home. Then, at the last minute the campaign suddenly expects a large crowd at a venue that holds 4,000. But, they can only bus in an estimated 850. I guess 850 might be OK for Dartmouth during summer months. But, I think it shows that there is real trouble in Hillaryland...the Beast is looking over her shoulder at Bernie charging. At the rate this is going, Bernie could pass her by the Fall. Look for additional lefty vote-splitters to enter the DIM race to help save the Beast...

"Glad you two came out alright on it."

Thanks. However, I do recall Bush II speaking out regarding the irresponsible lending. I believe Congress didn't act because once again, they didn't want to be pegged as the mean guys against the poor and minorities. Bush did address it along with his economic advisers at the time.

He saw it coming, but that was time when the Executive Office didn't make up law. Disclaimer: My biggest disappoint in W was his signature regarding prescription meds that enlarged Medi-care. Also that he didn't get a solid agreement with Iraq to maintain a troop presence once he started talking about leaving.

I lay more of that blame on Obama, since the scheduled withdrawal happened on his watch, again with no status of forces agreement. Now look what we have with the Arab Spring (Fall/Fail). I cry every time I see a Wounded Warrior advertisement for all the loss of our best and those who deal with their maimed bodies and minds every day. Viet Nam all over. At least it was a lower body count. F*ck them all who refuse to go Dresdan on those savages. Collateral damage be damned.
