Vladimir Zhirinovsky, an odious leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia has approved militarization of the Russian Federation and said that all the countries of the former Soviet Union were a zone of Russian interests.

The politician (Zhirinovsky) praised the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation launching a probe into the legitimacy of the collapse of the Soviet Union, indicating that the Baltic States' independence, as well as the Belavezha Agreement on dissolution of the Soviet Union, is "illegal" and was never ratified by the Russian parliament.

Can’t really blame The Embarrassment for this one. Zhirinovsky has been mouthing off for over a decade that I recall. I believe back in the 90’s/2000’s he was advocating for Russia taking Alaska, and possibly nuking the continental US. The guy’s a perennial kook.
