I can think of no stronger emetic.
No flag will be unfurled today. No fireworks will be watched. The US that I grew up in no longer exists.
It should actually be renamed to “Dependence Day”.
I would just say that we should change the name to “BBQ at the Lake Day” but, the goverment:
Wants us to stop using grills.
Wants us to stop eating meat.
Wants the common folk to stay out of the national and state parks.
Wants to ban power boating.
Yup.
It is understandable why you would feel that way, but we cannot lose hope. One of the things I love about Free Republic is the reminder that there are many others like me who cherish individual liberty and self determination embodied in conservative principles. We abhor tyranny because it threatens those liberties and mocks those principles that are the foundation of prosperity. My fellow Freepers are a daily reminder that there are many who have not bowed their knee to the Baal of liberalism!Old Glory flies everyday at my house to proclaim to the world that I will never bow!Be encouraged!
My HOA puts flags on our property and you can’t move them. I think it is nice. I don’t think we need to give up on the country just yet. I thought we were doomed in the 70’s and then wow did that change. We are having another 70’s time. Remember the 70’s were a time for celebrating killing babies......nothing more repulsive then that.

Given what has happened the past seven years, especially the past two weeks with the SCOTUS extra-constitutional rulings without basis in law, I have about given up all hope. More dismaying, recent polls of millennials seem to indicate they enjoy having chains thrust upon them.

I wish Forbes would have also touched on the role of the Crony Capitalist corporations who are enthusiastically joined with the radical leftists. I used to associate Forbes with old fashioned, blue blood conservative industrialists. Now, they seem to be either vanished, or joined in with the enemy. Personally, I feel the defection of the Republicans is slightly less offensive (they are politicians after all) than the defection of U.S. Corporations, whom I used to believe would fight for our American way of life.
