Accused San Francisco Pier Shooter Should Have Been Deported: Immigration Officials
nbc ^ | updated 11 minutes ago | Lisa Fernandez

The man accused of gunning down a 32-year-old Pleasanton woman while she was out strolling San Francisco's Embarcadero with her father was in a Bay Area jail four months ago and should have been turned over to federal immigration officials upon his release, instead of being sent free, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

But that's not the way the San Francisco County Sheriff's Legal Counsel Freya Horne sees it. In an interview Friday with NBC Bay Area, she said the city and county of San Francisco are sanctuaries for immigrants, and do not turn over undocumented people – if they don't have active warrants out for them – simply because immigration officials want them to.

Still, Horne said she realized that letting Sanchez out of jail on April 15 after not being charged with marijuana sales is a shame. Sanchez was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle of Pleasanton as she was walking on Pier 14 with her dad after dinner.

...

But, ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice told NBC Bay Area on Friday that Sanchez should have been returned to her agency's custody, because he had a "detainer" on his status in jail.

He was an "enforcement priority," Kice said. But Horne said that San Francisco treats these detainers as requests, not mandates.

So people die due to this half baked sanctuary city nonsense.

Why is it that we can have sanctuary cities where immigration laws are not enforced, but we must enforce federal court orders for homosexual marriage in violation of state laws on the subject of marriage? How do liberals decide which laws must be enforced and which they choose to selectively ignore???

A pristine example of what happens when liberal democrats are put in positions of power. Or, is she a Republican...

If Red China were to nuke out ten most liberal cities — they’d be doing America a favor.

This is not the first time that stupid twat Freya Horne's name has shown up in stories about san francisco f----ing up custody of illegal alien criminals. This was just back in March.

San Francisco sheriff’s officials acknowledged Tuesday that they mistakenly allowed a federally indicted narcotics trafficker facing lengthy prison time to work outside the immediate jail confines as a trusted, low-risk offender.

Alexander Santiago-Gonzalez, 26, whose attorney said he was facing “substantial” federal prison time for drug, weapons and immigration charges, bolted Monday at 8:45 p.m. while being escorted by a lone sheriff’s deputy to the Hall of Justice basement to take out the jail trash.

He was last seen in the South of Market area, wearing only his underwear.

Freya Horne, counsel for the sheriff’s office, said Santiago-Gonzalez vanished near Fifth and Folsom streets. He apparently shed his orange jail clothes as he fled, she said. “We are looking at both policies and the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Horne said.

Why deport him again, multiple attempts have been made and failed and now the tax payer will have to pay for his legal bills etc. etc. and he has managed to kill some one. FK him, and the government won't even close it's own borders to unlawful entry. Enough is enough, but then the uniparty needs his vote, See my tag line!

Trump said this and was eviscerated by pundits and MSM; Cruz has called for law enforcement...Obama tells ICE and BP to stand down....no one says a fracking word....Carly Fiorina says border must be closed...all her fans agree....many others have called, nay shouted the same message but Obama says to stand down and let ISIS et al move at will into our Nation.

As I see it, there is no pain or penalty for a municipality to declare themselves a ‘Sanctuary City’ and so they get all of the media and political glory without any cost. I propose that the STATES, who are generally less inclined to ‘Sanctuary’ status, impose penalties for reckless behavior like this willful ignorance of an ICE request. Perhaps the City should incur the entire trial, prison and victim costs for any similar case. Talk is cheap, money costs!

Now who will indict a sitting President after it was judged he exceeded his constitutional designated powers AND BY HIS OWN PREVIOUS PUBLIC STATEMENTS ACKNOWLEDGED SUCH. Immunity stops when a government employee knowingly exceeds his/her legal parameters. High crimes and misdemeanors.

Start the recording:

“Mistakes were made”

“We are conducting a review of our procedures to ensure that this kind of event does not happen again”

Followed by various staff promotions.
