In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.

Oregon can disregard the SCOTUS ruling but Clerks can't ? Per SCOTUS in Obergefell vs. Hodges - Opinion of the Court

Finally, it must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned.

I think this will continue in the courts...I thought I read there is some evidence of collusion by state workers with the lesbians against said bakery

No.

I refuse to play make believe or try to wiggle around things anymore.

It is my right under the US Constitution. It is what my faith requires of me. Here I stand.

If I am crushed so be it but I am not going to compromise who I am.

Gays aren’t going to sue Muslims. They know that Christians go to court, Muslims just throw gays off buildings.

Why didn't the Lesbian pair (they are physically incapable of being a couple) just go to a mooselimb bakery?

Because hatred of the Gospel is the most fundamental commitment of the left. Suing Muslims for the same cause would be attacking an enemy-of-my-enemy.

...Under Oregon law, that is illegal.

Any bets that 'law' was the homosexuals' idea in the first place?

They learned how to game the system from their brothers-in-arms, the liberals.

Yes, but how much trust can we put in an increasingly biased and corrupt legal system?

This kangaroo court will only work if the public allows it. But if the public allows it, the best response for its victims is just to leave, taking their business and money with them, and telling to court, its fines and gag orders to go get knotted.

For everyone else who wants to evade such a court, they must use subterfuge to do so. For example, churches can legally discriminate against homosexuals, so the business no longer makes wedding cakes “for sale to the public”, but only through these churches, by contract.

This means no more wedding cakes for secular or liberal church weddings as well. And when they ask why, tell them it is because this kangaroo court forbids it.

“Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian says that you cannot have a wedding cake for your wedding, at least from us. Only if you are married at one of these churches can we, by contract, make you a wedding cake. Sorry about this, but think about it the next time you vote.”

You're correct about homosexuals not suing the ROT (religion of terror). We need a carefully prepared action to throw the bullying and intimidation right back in their face.

How 'bout we have a conservative minister "of color" (although a leader of any conservative group will do, "of color" is critical because the Left is obsessed with race) ask a business run by homosexuals (ideally, of the in-your-face bullying type) to cater an event for a conservative cause (ideally, because it's so in-their-face, an event celebrating or promoting biblical marriage).

When they are turned down (which is almost a certainty), the "aggrieved and emotionally damaged party" will sue the homosexuals who run the business for "imposing their values" as well as on the basis of race discrimination. This must be done to a smaller business -- in this case, a mom-and-mom or pop-and-pop type shop -- who cannot afford to fight it in court or pay any fines that are imposed (or, ideally and hopefully, forced out of business).

We just may win, but that's really of secondary concern. Even if we don't win, the Left's (and, likely, the court's) contortions to explain how this bullying and intimidation of homosexuals differs from the bullying and intimidation by homosexuals -- the most vicious of the Left's sub-cults) -- will be on public display. Plus, it will be a clear indication to homosexuals and the Left that the Right is not going to just lay down and take their bullying and intimidation any more (which, I suspect, the homosexual bullies enjoy most of all).

Their fragile emotions are the Achilles Heel of the Left (especially, of homosexuals). We must strike hard and often at that significant weakness whenever we can if the Left is to be defeated ... to be crushed by decent Americans.

I like your point of fighting fire with fire. We can’t just accept the militant bullying anymore.

I still like Fr. Z’s suggestion.

Bake the cake

Charge $1000

Tell the homosexual couple that all profits from their purchase will go to supporting traditional marriage between one man and one woman.

Watch them walk out the door.

I recently discovered Rev John Rankin. He is a brilliant thinker and writer.

*Judicial Putsch*

In the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing human abortion, dissenting justice Byron White called it an exercise in “raw judicial power.”

In today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, dissenting justice Antonin Scalia called it a “judicial putsch” (overthrow).

In both cases, these supposed “rights” were invented apart from Constitutional law. This means we are no longer a nation of laws, but of a nation where the human wills of certain elitists are imposed on the rest of us.

Does it matter? From antiquity we have the biblical understanding of human freedom under the rule of law, and governed by King Yahweh. In Mesopotamian and Egyptian culture, we have kings who call themselves gods, and impose slavery on the non-elites of society. The “state” is god.

In the biblical profile of Sodom and Gomorrah, social and sexual anarchy lead to the state becoming god, no dissent is permitted, and the poor and needy get trampled.

In the Roman Empire, Caesar was eventually lifted to the status of a god, where Tiberius was the “son of the divine Augustus.” The self-proclaimed son of god. So when the true Son of God appears, the greatest contest of the ages comes to pass. Thus, for early Christians to call Jesus Lord was to oppose Caesar as lord, and thus the persecutions began.

We are now a nation that has forsaken its heritage of unalienable rights given by the Creator, and replaced it with the state as god.

The trajectory now in the United States is to remove the religious liberty of all people who dissent from the state as god, including those of us who say no to human abortion, say no to same-sex marriage, and say no to state enforced healthcare that cheapens real care and costs us much more.

And just like Nazi Germany where the church was squeezed into compliance — save a few brave souls who resisted like Dietrich Bonhoeffer — the next assault will especially be against pastors, churches and Christians who do not yield to the state as god. Support homosexuality, ordain homosexual clergy and perform same-sex marriages or lose your tax exemption ...

... and, accepting the militant bullying doesn't stop it, doesn't make the bully go away ... it just brings more bullying ... and worse bullying (as we see far to often to deny).

I know decent people don't want to get down-and-dirty with the bullies (especially the most vicious of the bullies, the homosexual sub-cult) as we are far too busy with what used to be "normal American pursuits" (e.g., rasing a family; making money; staking our place in the world; doing charitable things for needy people, etc.) and, for the most part, just want to be left alone (especially by people we don't get along with or see eye-to-eye with).

But you must understand that those days are past -- gone away. If decent people want to live their lives and achieve their goals under liberty -- under the freedom from harassment and threats to do so -- we're going to have to fight, maybe even with eye-to-eye contact. After what happened last week when the Supreme Court -- the last line of internal defense of our Republic -- amended the Constitution from the bench, we must not depend on our elected officials -- our government -- to do the heavy lifting for us ... to defend us from the enemy within. Our representatives range from being outright anti-conservative/traditional American values, to be too weak and too inconvenienced to defend us and the Constitution from the tyranny of the Left.

I’m not claiming everyone here is perfect. But I’ve been in most of the other states and found Texas fits my needs best of all.

Are the politicians of the biggest city in your state a match to your personal values and beliefs?

I should be past the point of being shocked after six years of Obama, but I’m not. The idea of a judge violating two separate parts of the First Amendment simultaneously. to coerce Americans into working in violation of their religious beliefs, against their will, and not talking about their rights being trampled, is both shocking and disgusting. I hope this judge experiences justice on the receiving end (preferably in a Nuremberg-style trial in a real court once freedom is restored), since he is too evil to dispense it from the bench.

What you said. (I live of the DFW area, too.)

Note however that I did come here from LA. Why? Because I am a Texan at heart and loath the left coast.
