According to my boy, there's a vid out there somewhere called 'freedom punch' where some hippie dude is lighting up Old Glory and a big old Nam Vet calmly walks up, puts the flag out, wraps it in and around his fist, and lambasts the guy right in the teeth... I'm looking hard for that one...
Too dry up here for fireworks (the county shut them off), so we was thinking maybe some American and Rebel banners might cheer us up. : )

Sucks for us... The whole famdamily flies in for the 4th... we usually have a couple grand in fireworks and a big BBQ feed... Last year, there were more than 150 in attendance for the fireworks display, most of whom I didn't even know. It's a pretty big to-do, so I don't know for sure what to do for the grand finale. Maybe an outdoor movie or something...
Anyhow, can't blame the county... Normally we get a ton of rain in June... pretty much all month long - this year, nothing... In fact it's been too hot since about mid june, and everything is hotter and drier than a popcorn fart. There is pretty much no hope of relief now until September, and august is gonna be wicked. Gonna be a loooong fire season up here in the Rockies.

Chewy sure is... I leave him in the house on the 4th, and try to get back soon, as it freaks him out like crazy... He usually spends the whole night curled up right next to me on the bed afterwards...
