"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

This is all about closing Gitmo. Before his term ends he is going to hand it back over to the Cubans and force something to happen which Congress and the American People specifically do not want.

Yes. The man who bowed down before foreign leaders and begged forgiveness for the evils of this country has given radical communists all the advantages, and asked for nothing in return.

I don't know if this is official yet, but an article at
Breitbart yesterday said that Raul was demanding that the US return Gitmo to Cuba and also stop all TV and radio broadcasts toward Cuba.
Obama's idiot deal might prove to be even worse than a total sell-out.

Spot on, it smacks of negotiating a surrender.

Personally, I was all for the embargo ending. It was decades past due. It was childish, basically, an ego move because a Democrat President once again abandoned an ally during an invasion or rescue effort, and it was a complete failure. Since we cannot punish Democrat Presidents, we have to have an embargo for 50 years.
We deal with far, far worse tyrants on a daily basis, but we don't embargo their nations for generations. It was silly, useless, and ineffective... and more than likely counter-productive. Economics is by far our best tool and most effective PR.
It was one of the few Obama moves that I ever supported, and only wished a Bush had done it first (or Reagan).
