America's Political Elites Do as They Damn Well Please

We have a royal class in America. They are those who trot around as if they were billionaires, with security, administrative staffs, special meals, wonderful trips -- and unspoken disdain for the rest of us. They are the growing number of elected officials, from the local level all the way up to the White House, who we first elected when they were "humble citizens" asking for our votes.

Add to that many of the bureaucrats who fill local, state and federal governments.

Trust me, this concept of a "political elite" is not only alive, it is in full bloom. Between the wishy-washy positions and condescending attitudes of these "royal" politicians, it is no wonder that a plainspoken man like Donald Trump -- who also happens to be a billionaire -- is racing up the polls in the early GOP presidential caucus and primary states.

Trump actually took a stand and the PC police are punishing him. Some punishment: He's still worth a fortune and is rapidly gaining support from disaffected voters who are sick of being pushed, shoved or placated by politicians.

Whether Trump survives politically remains to be seen, but the reaction he is getting is representative of the public's increasingly strong disdain for professional politicians.

From a recent ruling that every little stream and puddle is suddenly to be regulated by the federal government, to the endless reams of unnecessary legislation that became laws in many states on July 1, we serve a master and that master is government.

And this problem cuts across party lines. In fact, Republicans, who dominate many of our statehouses, are probably guiltier than Democrats of turning state legislative seats into mini versions of Congress. Committee chairs in many state legislatures nowadays have their own "chiefs of staff" and legislative counsels. State officials are often hard to reach and many can only clear their busy calendars if you are handing them a fat check or if you are attending one of their endless fundraisers.

A growing number completely ignore the wishes of their local constituents, or only reach out when it's time to run for office again. When a really tough issue arises, one that pits big business against their constituents, for example, they are often nowhere to be found or plead ignorance, which really means they've sided with business over their constituents.

The only group they jealously protect without fail is their own. Consider the boneheaded move made in my native state of Georgia this week. Deciding that drones were a "threat" to their capitol building and their Governor's Mansion, a state authority issued a "ruling" that no drone could fly within five miles of the Georgia capitol grounds and could not fly near the mansion.

Well isn't that special.

What about all the rest of us? Is our privacy and safety less important than their privacy and safety? Oh, that's right, they have a helicopter landing pad nearby. Bet that thing is oh-so-urgently needed for official business -- about once a year.

Then there is His Royal Majesty, the president. He's taken George W. Bush's idiotic landing on an aircraft carrier like "Top Gun" as a starting point, then amped things up to a whole new level. Regardless of how one feels about the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage -- I wasn't bothered by it -- did it really justify lighting up the White House like a rainbow? We are all waiting to see if the White House will display red, white and blue on July 4. And if it does, I'm sure the trend will be set: green for St. Patrick's Day and so on.

But hey, Obama and "the government" can do whatever they want, right? So much so that people are increasingly afraid to speak out on issues. After all, the IRS was allowed to persecute conservatives and then cover it all up.

And consider this: When it comes to murdered police officers, well that's for the widows' and orphans' funds to deal with. But if similar tragedy touches a politically prized group, such as the families of the nine victims of the tragic shooting in South Carolina, well that means a "fast track" of $29 million in federal funds to assist them. Twenty-nine million dollars for nine families. Really?

Once again, the political elite does what it damn well pleases.

I agree. AMERICA ISN’T a government of, by and for the people anymore. It’s a sewer run by the arrogant elitist communists now. Americans have no say in how it is being run. It’s being run by out of control politicians and government employed bureaucrats with no love of their country. They only love America’s treasury.

It is well past time to fire and file charges against the lot of them. Reduce government pay to 50% median private sector, no benefits, no unions. Government does not need, deserve nor is it competent to handle the best and the brightest.
Let the babies whine. We have a nation to save.

They only love America’s treasury.

It's far worse than that. I believe they are satanic. They hate God and anyone He has blessed. Lock and load.

The Elite made THEMSELVES EXEMPT,
and brought in an infected, class of criminals
to rule Americans, to kill and rape them.
And if caught, the criminals are released over and over.

That is NOT what the Founding Fathers fought
the Crown to obtain.

We all know what’s been fuelling this royal class in America: the abundance of cheap money for governments and their wealthy billionaire friends and fat cat union leaders so they can use the taxpayer as an unlimited credit card.

It will be interesting to see what happens when this cheap money (eventually) runs out.

Not to put to fine a point on it but ... well, duh.

Which is why 2016 is going to be Hildabeast v. Jebby with President Beast in 2017.

One solution is to mandate that they all serve out their terms of office in their Congressional districts. No more DC offices and staff. They can go to DC once per year for the SOTU Address. Then, impose term limits. They’ll behave differently if they’re constantly scrutinized by their electorate.

With only a little wiggle room, polls are pretty accurate except in special and off year elections.

Bush Derangement Syndrome will never die.

Forty yeares from now, a Leftist will be in a government-mandated end-of-life dignity facility, lying in a pool of her own piss, gasping out with her death rattle:

"BUSH STOLE THE ELECT-uggnghg"

Thank you for that! I heard that google was blocking searches for confederate flag so I told someone and they said, "no way" sure enough no confederate flag hits, nor nothing for sale through amazon that says confederate flag.

Outrageous, google pretends they can be the arbiter of what is right and wrong in a search?

Tried Bing, thousands of hits for confederate flag, but I hate them too, so duckduckgo is my new search engine. Now how do I get rid of my google phone?

Well written. Can’t agree more. This country is in serious trouble, and the biggest problem is not enough people realize it.

To add to what you already pointed out, the Constitution is being shredded, our military is being decimated, our foreign policy is making us the laughingstock of the world, there is zero accountability in government, the “most transparent administration in US history” has turned out to be the most secretive, a new scandal every day instead of every week these days, he still wants gun control so bad he can taste it, but I bet he won’t give up his armed guards, Michelle has stuck us for millions to fund her luxury trips all over the world, Obama wants to use EPA regulations to stick us with still more taxes, while he commissions the biggest jet in existence for the next Air Force One, which reminds me “climate change” is a huge scam....

On to climate change...find the Newsmax TV channel and watch for the documentary “Dark Winter”. Or buy the book. I’d love to get a copy but as one of the 93 million people out of the work force I can’t afford to buy a comic book...while the people pushing the completely political climate change agenda manipulate data to try and scare us into more restrictive laws and taxes, they fly all over the world in private jets...and they want you to stop driving your car as much as possible...

Hillary...don’t get me started...just plain evil.

I think this is the only thing the founders of this country didn’t foresee, a political class that considers themselves above the rest of us and untouchable. The elite, do whatever they want without fear of consequences. One attorney general already committed outright treason by giving high powered weapons to a Mexican drug cartel and walked away without a scratch, never even spent the night in jail, stonewalled the investigation, Obama cited “executive privilege” to protect him...Harry Reid killed 380 bills that made it to the senate over four years and walked away smelling like a rose, Hillary won’t be prosecuted, and will probably be nominated, I can’t think of a politician in the last 30 years who wasn’t owned by special interest groups or big money donors, they ignore what the people want, the people who pay their damn salaries...

Trump and Cruz are the only two I know of who are actually willing to stand up to the establishment, and the media is doing everything they can to destroy them both. You can tell who the media and the Democrats fear, that’s who they are attacking the hardest. Trump and Cruz mostly, a little attention to Rubio and Walker....Bush seems to be their shining star...it’s disgusting.

Trump tells the truth and the press wants him crucified, Obama lies nonstop for years and they look the other way.

We need two things, a leader in the White House and an honest press. I don’t know if we’ll get either. If Obama has his way, he’ll have enough voting illegal immigrants in the country by 2016 there is no way we can stop a landslide Democrat win ever again.

And nobody wants to even mention impeachment...
