Wish I could emigrate somewhere else easily, a place which still respects the laws that our nation used to be. A place of freedom, liberty, and a predominant Christian culture.

I agree. People are getting fed up to the point of action. And by action I mean leaving.

What about owning / carrying a gun in Belize? Is that allowed?

Yes they are. It's how one "goes Galt" these days. Others are heading to the hills - acreage, solar, garden, well - getting off the grid domestically - using the SHTF preparations. And some will be called to stand and fight where they are. All of the above categories are patriots IMO.

What worries me is how many decent people I know who will very likely just comply....just submit......go along to get along. THATS the crowd I have little respect for.

Then he is lying if he says he’s renounced his US citizenship. You have to show up at a US Embassy in another country to do that.

I am guessing he is saying he plans on doing so. Dunno.

"If you go to any of those places I’m told it will be a big lifestyle change. I was watching a Dateline show about a guy who killed his girlfriend in Panama. They lived on the beach and it wasn’t anything special. Right behind them was a swamp. And where there wasn’t a swamp there was a ghetto. I’ve considered two of the places you mentioned. The best advice I’ve gotten is to go for a few months then decide if you want to stay."

That is good advice regardless where someone is thinking about moving, but as far as Panama goes, check deeper. Look into Boquete, or for that matter, the Trump Ocean Club (as in Donald Trump) in Panama City.

Thanks for the update. Good luck to you on your journey to freedom which I agree is not in the United States of America which is so sad.

Good discussion and info on this thread.

Belize was under British rule until they gained independence in the 80s.
You must get a license from the police in order to own / purchase a firearm. It is $250 every 3 years.
You are then able to purchase a shotgun up to 20 gauge, and pistol up to 9mm.
No import or export of your firearms are allowed.
That’s just the way things are.
They have very little crime compared to their other Central America neighboring countries.
Just an retirement quality of life option to think about.

I believe the vast majority of people will simply comply. And most of them won’t even bitch about it.
