As Donald Trump surges in polls, Democrats cheer
The Washington Post ^ | July 1st, 2015 | By Philip Rucker

For Democrats, Donald Trump amounts to a kind of divine intervention.

With the Republican Party on an urgent mission to woo Latino voters, one of its leading presidential candidates has been enmeshed for two weeks in a nasty feud over his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants.

“They’re bringing drugs,” Trump said in his campaign announcement speech. “They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

The comments — and many more since — have prompted an uproar among Latino groups and a series of acrimonious break-ups between Trump and various corporate partners. His outlandish rhetoric and skill at occupying the national spotlight is also proving to be dangerously toxic for the GOP brand, which remains in the rehabilitation stage after losing the 2012 presidential race.

If the Washington Post doesn’t think Latinos have had a belly full of crime and the end result of illegal immigration, they’re even more blind than I thought.

Trump has added a level of excitement to the 2016 race that will be confounding to EVERY POLITICAL PROFESSIONAL!

Why is the GOP on a mission to woo Latino votes?

Maybe that is their problem......and not Donald Trump.

Keep it up, Donald! It won’t help us take down Hillary, but at least we can laugh for a little while. And God knows, in a rapidly declining America, we need every laugh we can get.

The Dems are too stupid to realize Trump is likely going to steal Democrat votes. There are plenty of unhappy DEms out there who don’t want Hillary.

Even with his flaws, he’s still better than Hillary. These nay sayers might wake up one morning in January, 2017 to President Donald Trump. It could happen - this country is ripe right now for someone different, and he is giving us that in spades.

He’s not going to steal democrat votes. But hey.. let’s enjoy the ride and watch him piss off 3/4 of the electorate. There’s value in the entertainment element of reality TV-like bombast.

A lot of Dems voted for Reagan and I think Trump can get some also. People are sick of politicians lying to them.

Maybe so. If I were her I wouldn’t sell the guy short. Folks may say they don’t like him, but sticking by his guns would have a lot of them very impressed and voting for him over the long haul. I wouldn’t dismiss him as a threat, no matter how much I might see him as a loose canon.

If it comes to the place where you have to, your wrists may not be as in danger as you think.

On the other hand, I might join you. LOL

What was it again, that happened in 2014? Seems I remember democrats getting their collectives a$$e$ kicked, rather soundly.
