A 4-year-old girl who was shot in the leg when a police officer fired at a dog is recovering after surgery as her family questions how the officer responded. [snip] The family also says people yelled to notify the officer that the girl was hurt but claims he drove away without offering help, and other emergency responders had to care for the girl.

Good shooting there, cops!
Where on earth was the little girl’s mother?
Did the dog survive?....................
Cops opening up on dogs in neighborhoods with little girls close by can not be considered appropriate or safe.
If she owned a pit bull then she had it coming

Cops asks for another chance, says he'll do better this time.
Where on earth was the little girls mother? —
Sounds like a feral kid. Might growl, or try to bite the cop.
New target, along with dogs.

Got to get home save, you know.
One more question
Has her family ever owned a confederate flag or said the n-word?
If so then there you go
these idiot cops are being TRAINED that it’s always OK to shoot a dog no matter what the breed is, no matter what the circumstances are, and no matter whether de-escalating the situation is possible. all the cop has to say are the magic words, “i was afraid for my life” and it’s an automatic get out of jail free card.
a couple of years ago, there was video of a Colorado cop pulling his gun and shooting dead dog that was doing little more than trying to avoid him.
it’s outrageous and anyone who could do that has NO BUSINESS WITH A GUN AND BADGE.
this video is disturbing. these cops and this animal control officer are pieces of s**t.

I think the most surprising thing about this article was that the LEO involved wasn’t in Florida.
That’s horrible. I wonder what the outcome of that was? Was that recent?
Is the cop dead yet? If it were my little girl he would be.

The little girl was shot when the officer missed the dog.
But the officer is safe.
What is it with cops today?
.
What’s this? Are you wearing a Chet99 mask? :)
It’s time for for “not deathly afraid of dogs” to become a job requirement for law enforcement.
It’s a job for men, not jittery, trigger happy little boys.
Maybe we should have them all wear armor so they aren’t so ascared.
the dog owner has filed a civil suit.
Cops will be the first target of opportunity when things turn (unless congresscritters or IRS employees are filing by).
