I'd argue that judgment has been coming at least since the nation’s adoption, through its Supreme Court, of legalized abortion:
I am not saying that abortions are right. I am saying that the practice of abortion as such is not God's primary focus of concern. It is the practice of legalized abortions that is the focus of God's concern and wrath. When abortion is legalized, this testifies to the depraved moral condition of the community. It is the moral condition of the community that concerns God, not the fact that this or that physician is practicing abortions. God can bring judgment in eternity, and will, against those who practice abortion and against the mothers who authorize it. Abortion is a crime in God's eyes. But the focus of God's concern is not with stopping the abortions by his representatives' individual actions. The focus of God's concern is to legislate against abortion and then to have the representative ordained agents, that is, the civil magistrates, take public action against the abortion. God's judicial focus, in other words, is corporate and judicial. This is the focus of God's concern in the question of abortion.

I try not to put much stock in coincidences as signs and omens, but it is particularly striking, if nothing else, that the sodomites chose for their symbol, the sign which God used when he said that He would never again destroy the entire world by flood again. He didn’t say it wouldn’t be destroyed by other means. Sodom and Gomorrah particularly were destroyed by fire. The sodomites don’t believe it/scoff at it, but they are just about daring God to bring on the destruction He has promised in prophecy to pour out on the earth in the last days, which will only make most humans even more defiant and reprobate in their reactions. Sodomites are exactly the people of whom God said that He would turn them over to their reprobate minds, to their own sin and wickedness, and they are shaking their fists in God’s face by co-opting the symbol He used as a sign of His promise to never again destroy the world by flood.
A close read of Romans 1 shows that homosexuality is itself a form of judgment from God.
Whatever the supreme court thinks, same-sex weddings cannot rise to the level of sanctity of holy matrimony between a man and a woman vowing fidelity before God.
I went by at least 5 churches this past weekend that all had “God Bless America” on their marquees. America spit in God’s face this past week. He cannot and will not bless sin.
IMHO, a wake-up call was sent on 9/11 and it was not heeded. In 2008, America wrappd herself in a dark mantel of evil by chosing the ways of Satan over God. The beginning of Judgement has come to America and will progressively get worse as God remains true to His Word. How bad will it get? Probably worse than any of us can even imagine. It’s not IF, but WHEN will that big old “Sodom & Gamorrah” hammer drop? Regretfully, I fear that the America we all grew up in gone; lost; finished. This thing we live in today is evil and similar to ancient Rome. It’s going down. It will soon be lock and load, folks.
