“America: Our Changing Past”

Reminds me of how the USSR worked; when a new regime took over, all of the history books were recalled and rewritten.

“TV Land had , at one time, a great lineup of TV dramas and such that they ditched and I haven’t watched them in years.”

DITTOS! Used to watch TVLand, but stopped due to their programming changes, and too many commercials. I now watch ME-TV, UP-TV and INSP — Family and faith-based programs. Maybe one of them will pick up Dukes of Hazzard.

As I say, it’s insane. “It’s getting scary” are three VERY OVERUSED words, but, sorry, I think it’s really getting scary, this mob madness out there.

“Cultural-marxists want to demonize/erase all history and all collective cultural memory. This is just the beginning.”

That’s the idea! And, unfortunately, it’s working.

Family Net also airs a lot of vintage/classic TV shows.

Nope. That statement has been shown to be made up by a college fraternity in Florida.

Not getting into another debate over the War of Secession, but, if you'd check history you'll read where a bunch of VMI cadets shelled a supply boat to Ft. Sumpter a few month before the South officially bombarded Ft. Sumpter.

And no, I will not get into a debate either with you or other posters. Went down that road several times.

They’re gonna try to make the word “Confederate” and the Confederate Battle Flag into equivalents of the n-word.

Land had , at one time, a great lineup of TV dramas and such that they ditched and I haven’t watched them in years. ... Still have ME TV and a couple of others that cater to older TV shows.

Which leads to an idea of mine. I'm totally disgusted that I have to pay for a bunch of cable channels that I don't want (such as 5 Spanish channels) so I can get the five or six channels that I want. In these days of digital TV why can't I just pay ten bucks a month for each of the channels I want? All of the Comcast's customers would have just what they want and nothing they don't and CNN and MSNBC would wither from lack of interest while BLAZE and METV would flourish because that's what people want.

It would be a free market of television

Gen X watched the Dukes not because they wanted the South to rise, but is was a show about youth telling the system to shove it. Gen X was raised in the shadow of the 60 hippies who thought they were better than everyone else. In the 1980's Gen X fought off PC on campus.

I posted this on FB earlier and started a bit of a battle and a few unfriendings -- So be it

Actually, that is the Army of Northern Virginia battle flag not the Confederate flag and It can be seen as a beautiful thing when you consider that a group of Americans felt stepped on by the US government and said to them "we are no longer associated with you as you no longer share our values." That is why the flag putch was in place and the forces of Obamunism were just waiting for some nut to do something they could use as an excuse to put their plan in action.
