We’ve taken some big hits recently. It appears our “leaders” in Washington, DC have all surrendered to the godless liberal/progressives and have decided to turn our society inside out and upside down. Congress running interference for Obama was bad enough, now we have the Supreme Court trampling on the constitution as well.
When all three branches ignore the constitution we have a serious problem. The wimps in congress have proven over and over that they don’t have the will to fight and it’s now painfully obvious that the supremes are not willing to do their constitutional duty either.
Government has failed us. The congress is toothless. The courts have failed us. Election mandates are ignored.
So now what?
Well, luckily for us, the Founders foresaw this problem and gave we the people a constitutional tool to fight back. We the people through our sovereign state governments can elect to send delegates to an Article V convention to propose amendments to the constitution.
Also, luckily for us, as of the last election the Republicans control something like two-thirds of our state governments, so if we’re ever to succeed at something like this, now is the time to strike.
Article V is the constitutional reset button provided to we the people by our Founding Fathers. If you are not familiar with Article V, please read up about it on conventionofstates.com. This is not a scary constitutional convention to rewrite the entire constitution. It would be an effort led by the states to rein-in the runaway federal government and to reclaim and restore sovereign rights and powers to the states and the people. Definitely worth a try and definitely better than the final alternative.
Please take this seriously and read up on Article V at conventionofstates.com.
In the meantime, we need your continuing support to keep FR on the air.
FR is funded solely by contributions made by the liberty loving patriots who enjoy and use it.
We are beholden to no political party.
No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.
This means no commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam. No one trying to control us.
Definitely no government subsidies or tax breaks.
We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of God, family, country, liberty!!
But we cannot exist without you.
Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.
Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense conservative forum on the Net!!
And we’re going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!
Please click the secure server link above or donate by mail to: Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794
Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up.
Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc’s growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.
Please get your donations in early so we can wrap this baby up within 30 days.
Thank you all very much!!
God bless.

Fun things to do with your kids on the 4th
Take a trip to a special fort, park or monument near you. That will add special meaning to this Fourth of July holiday. You can also visit museums, statues and various tribute areas that are close to or in your town. Don't forget to take the camera!
Rent some great Fourth of July themed movies to watch. Your local video store will know just what movies to suggest for this great holiday. This is something that everyone can enjoy. It is a great way to spend some quality time with your friends and family.
Attend a Fourth of July celebration in your town. These will be advertised in your local paper. Many cities have wonderful Fourth of July celebrations, concerts and events. Some are free of charge. It would be a shame not go to those. source: http://voices.yahoo.com/fun-things-fourth-july-343629.html

..."That, of course, is the lesson of this century, a lesson learned in the Sudetenland, in Poland, in Hungary, in Czechoslovakia, in Cambodia. If we really care about peace, we must stay strong.
If we really care about peace, we must, through our strength, demonstrate our unwillingness to accept an ending of the peace.
We must be strong enough to create peace where it does not exist and strong enough to protect it where it does. That's the lesson of this century and, I think, of this day. And that's all I wanted to say. The rest of my contribution is to leave this great place to its peace, a peace it has earned.
