WASHINGTON (June 30, 2015) — The Supreme Court will consider limiting the power of government employee unions to collect fees from non-members in a case that labor officials say could threaten membership and further weaken union clout.

The justices said Tuesday they will hear an appeal from a group of California teachers who say it violates their First Amendment rights to have to pay any fees if they disagree with a union's positions and don't want to join it.

This will be a key decision, but I don't have faith that the court will come down with a ruling in favor of Rebecca Friedrichs and American workers.

SCOTUS has become just another criminal off-shoot of the 'rat party.

How do you get a government employee to work less?
Unionize them.......................

You’d think this would be a no-brainer... but then again, that might explain why we have to worry.

This Supremely Anti-Constitutional court will no doubt continue on in it’s mission to destroy the Constitution on this one as well. God help them if this country goes into civil war over their decisions because if it does they are among the first who are going to be put up against the wall.

Government employee unios exist only because of an executive order. President Cruz or Walker can easily issue an executive order outlawing government employee unions.

Can't have that!

You expecting a lamp post shortage?

At this point, with the unbridled tyranny we are now living through, we must not rule out anything.

It seems it's not a matter of "if" anymore, only of when and by whom.

Need to get rid of all of those union (and non-union for that matter) US workers.

Companies and government need those jobs open to replace those jobs with mexican illegals and H1-B workers. Don’t forget about the flood of all of that sweet cheap labor from the pacific rim once TPP is put into effect.

If you think your livelihood is safe, think again.

If someone else in the world (especially if they’re from a fascist nation) will do your job cheaper than you, then you will be marginalized and replaced.

That’s all their is to it. No allegiances, no loylaities, only bow to the oligarchs, hope you’re accepted into their circle, or be cast aside and resign to a life of serfdom.

I will be shocked if SCOTUS turns off this huge spigot of moneybto Democratic Party politicians. Billions of dollars are stolen from Conservatives in unions and forcibly granted to their enemies. It is a form of slavery, really. Having to work so many hours to support politicians you hate.

I disagree with your view. Outside of the government workplace, there needs to be a balance of force.
Like the predator/ prey relationship.
When out of balance, the ecosystem will weaken or die.

Predation and competition enables our system.

5-4 in favor of the unions.

Why even bother going through the charade anymore?

The local AFT teachers union out here in CA gives our forced political dues to the Primary Dem candidates they favor.

So one argument I use to swing Union people away from supporting forced “political” dues is tell them “Hey, what if there is corruption inside our — or what if you simply prefer a DIFFERENT Democrat to be funded with your dollars?

“Why should a powerful union boss and his friends “decide” for us? Just KEEP YOUR OWN POLITICAL RESOURCES, and allocate those dollars, as YOU see fit.”

This has worked to sway them away from their mindless “dues paying” behavior.

Even the nutty Green Party people at the College agree with me. They’re like “Hey, right! I can’t give my political dues to some wacky Green Party person — the union decides “for” me! That’s not fair!”

(I added the “wacky” part.)
