Regarding the future of Christianity in the US, the US will soon be just like China that only allows government sanctioned religion for the people. Christianity in the US will either go underground or it will become the catalyst for the people to unite to throw off this corrupted government. Obozo is not done yet, he has 1.5 years left to complete the NWO agenda for the US. The disarming of the US citizen is on obozo’s docket for his next big achievement.

It’s the other tax-exempted groups that should worry, and do.

Repeal section 501(c). End tax exemptions. Make the Clinton Foundation, the Pew Foundation, Planned Parenthood -- ALL of the "non-profits" that employ so many Leftists -- make them all subject to corporate tax like any other corporation.

As for the churches, they don't need buildings. Go back to the roots of the early Church. They can rotate meeting in people's living rooms.

I know many churches that have refused to register as 501 c 3 organizations including the one I currently am a member of.

“churches existed before tax exemptions”

Well ... tax exemption for churches began in 1894 when the federal income tax rate was at 2% and less than 10% of the people paid it. A far cry from where it is now.

Any half-@ssed CPA can turn a church into a taxable corporation that has $0 in taxable income.

If you made it worth my while, I could come into your church and not only do this, but make sure I get half your congregation qualified for Social Security disability payments, get most of them qualified for food stamps and free school lunches, and turn the entire neighborhood around your church into subsidized Section 8 housing for your own congregation.

Anyone disagreeing with free wheeling, no holds barred, no boundaries, no morality, no religion fringe/mainstream liberals must be silenced.
If they cant be silenced, then they must be destroyed.

All organizations should be exempt from income tax, but made to pay local sales tax. They can lobby, they can campaign, they can do whatever they want.

I don’t know the ins and outs of tax law. But I think churches may start doing what you mention here, to stay within the law but also have zero taxable income .

So what, many churches are fronts for left wing hate groups.

You don't think the upcoming oligarchy won't make a distinction between the "churches" that support the culture and Christ's churches that do not? There will be a "dhimmi to liberals" standard, just as there is the dhimmi standard in Muslim societies. Eventually, we will have to sacrifice to the Emperor, or die. I will probably be dead by the time that happens, but if not, I will become dead when it happens.

“A church without a tax exemption can lobby freely in government and can support political candidates, too.”

Bingo! Years ago during the Clintoon/Monica mess, five of us learned that even conservative priests and pastors couldn’t preach about what was wrong or lose their tax free status.

Liberal priests/pastors on the other hand could say anything to support liberal laws and politicians due to liberal courts/judges.

It is even worse for our side years later.

So now they insist that churches teach what they want them to teach which is an abomination to God.

Yep ... and some day coming to all IRS 501-C3 tax-exempt churches in America.

Don't blame me ... I'm just the messenger.

Questions ?

Muster up the courage to do the free IRS download of "Pamplet P1828" which specifies the legal details of your tax-exempt church's sertitude to it's U.S. Government Masters.

Heck, I'll even do you the favor of providing the internet link:

I predict that the first thing these churches are likely to do is lay off every employee except their clergy and their business administrators. And there are surely some smart clergy out there who can fill both roles.

These churches will turn into volunteer organizations that have no need to cover payroll taxes, have minimal overhead expenses, and rid themselves of all the burdens associated with being a well-financed arm of the government as many of them are these days.

In other words, churches will go back to being what they always should have been: religious organizations.

I don’t want churches to lose their tax-exempt status.
However, the loony Left will unleash a Holy Juggernaut when churches are able to lobby and speak politically!

“When tax exemptions are removed, donors will give far less than they are giving now. Churches will become liable to property taxes.”

This is wrong.

First of all, most citizens don’t pay federal taxes, and for those that do most don’t itemize deductions.

Secondly, property taxes are a local tax not a federal tax. It would be up to the local entity as to any property taxes that would be due. Most state and local politicians are more answerable to the voters than at the local leve.

The “house church” is also likely to come back, which was a common New Testament phenomenon.

Losing the “audience/stage” vibe will probably add to the mutual communion sense of worship gatherings.

The church is one organization that fares better under pressure. If you want to make a church weak, make it too easy for that church.

It’s time to stop looking at “Church” and “Marriage” as a way to avoid taxes or get benefits.

“In spite of so much being done by volunteers, it still costs money to operate homeless accommodations, feeding programs, counseling service of various types.”

These activities would be a deduction (a cost of doing business) even if the church was not tax exempt.

Additionally, other tax exempt organizations would be barred from giving money to non-tax exempt churches.

If they are no longer tax exempt, does that affect whether they have to do gay marriages?

The Christian businesses that were persecuted under the homosexual discrimination laws were for-profit.
