I’ve some of that.......
The Greek government has done them in...
Not unlike what our government is doing......................
LOL!
By the way, does anyone on this thread live in the rural parts of Southern Pennsylvania?
Retirement is on the horizon, and my husband and I are looking for places to settle that will be safe and ‘small-townish’. We’d like to be about halfway (in terms of car-travel time) between central Montgomery County, MD, and central Columbia County, PA - so we can be equally close to both sides of family in case they need us.
I’m partial to Lancaster County; I want something that’s not too isolated from a little bit of shopping, and a hospital. But I want ‘rural’; and we don’t want to be too close to huge population centers, excessive traffic, etc. Low real estate tax rates would be a plus, too ;-)
We’d appreciate any advice, in the event that anyone here has knowledge.
Thanks very much,

“Yep. By early Nov. IMO”
Can you share why?
Im looking at the end of the Shemita year in Sept.
Nov. is giving it a little extra time.
The whole bunch of ya’s should get out of the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic as fast as you can move your hinny’s.
Why is that? The tsunami from the Canary Islands?
Good one, DO.
Just got a mental picture of Olive Oil with a shocked face hearing that from Wimpy when she went to get her repayment.
Thanks Exit82.
Had the same thought.
In comes Russia and China to save the day.
Well, that’s not always possible, when you have folks in the area who might need you. I’d prefer to go South, especially to VA or the Carolinas; if just for the weather, and my own heritage. But I’m only 1/2 of this Marriage Unit :-)
There are lots of parts of the Appalachian Regional area - much of which is in PA - that are sparsely populated; and the people who ARE there are mostly conservative and trustworthy.
(There’s a saying that Pennsylvania is ‘Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, with Alabama in between’.)
I think one has to weigh a lot of stuff, before determining just how far ‘bugout’ one wants to go. Including weighing realistically the likely, as opposed to the somewhat possible, scenarios.
You make your decision, and you take your chance.
