It was planned? or things did NOT go as planned? which is it? It sounds like she is saying she wanted to have a child at some point in the future but just not now. I guess it depends on what your definition of "planned" is.
Trying to extrapolate from the sequence of events, I think she was fine with having a child as she was getting married. Then the marriage was blown up by the revelation that her husband to be might still be married to a previously undisclosed wife. Apparently, Bristol was already pregnant before she found out and called off her wedding.
