Many think our government is for sale. However, by taking a look at the facts below provided by the Open Secrets, it is easy to understand where they are coming from. Looking back at Friday the 12th, the House voted on Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), the controversial bill that gives power to the executive branch to negotiate treaties. TPA limits Congress ability to better a trade deal by subjecting members of Congress to 90 days of reviewing the trade agreement, prohibiting any amendments on the implementing legislation, and giving them an up or down vote. TPA passed with a mere 219-211 vote with only 218 needed to pass. The real shocker comes from the amount of money each Representative received for a yes vote. In total, $197,869,145 was given to Representatives for a yes vote where as $23,065,231 was given in opposition.
John Boehner (R-OH) received $5.3 million for a yea vote and was the highest paid legislator. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) received $2.4 million for his yea vote. Paul Ryan (R-WI) received $2.4 million for a yea vote and came in at the third highest paid legislator. Pat Tiberi (R-OH) follows Paul Ryan, coming in the fourth spot having received $1.6 million for his yea vote.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
That is how Trump does business too
Oh. Has the word “donated” been redefined just like “marriage” has?
‘Many think our government is for sale.’
And they’re right.
They have legitimized corruption.
Well put.
Let me be the one to advise you that almost all international business involves bribes to the company purchasing major goods from Americans. I learned this myself accidentally do to a sell of a call distributing system to another country (to remain anonymous).
This kind of bribery is accepted as normal and required in almost all countries when doing business. We do tend to frown on it but have to engage if we want to sell our goods.
I really doubt that much has change since the late 80’s so don’t get too high minded - it happens all the time in business.
So, now to politicians. Oh yes, how do you think that they enter politics as paupers and leave as part of the upper 1 percent? Does anyone here actually believe that most of our politicians are not corrupt? Time to get a life...
lol
what does all that have to do with Trump
he donated to lefties who had no input on his business
Trump is fixin to go into the GIVERNMENT BUSINESS...
AND WANTS TO BECOME THE CEO... selling access and influence..
You know it’s true... He walks like, qwacks like, and is a Fascist..
Obama (baby duck) snuck up on us, Trump (adult) wants to come thru the front door..
I mentioned this only to those that seem to place their Conservative politicians on a pedestal along with their ideal morality for them. That and commenting about business ethics of not only politicians but business. These things do tend to merge at some point so they are relevant.

fixed that for you
It is time, to take a stand, and trip them, as they walk by...
And America loses.
They can rot.
Where did you get that?
Millions of Americans believe this Trade Promotion Authority is not good policy for the country. How did Trump create national policy which would harm the entire country?
Like Trump said, we have idiots negotiating for us.
So we have the best laws money could buy. Woo hoo ! We’re number one.
Too big to fail.
Where can we read the list?
Where can we read the list?

It is a very long url
Go to the website and click on the “Open Secrets” link in the first sentence.
“Many think our government is for sale. However, by taking a look at the facts below provided by the Open Secrets,”
Once you have that open, look for the tabs that say -
“Total Contributions” then look to the right is “Contributions by vote” and “timeline of contributions”.
On the “timeline of contributions” tab it will show the names (scroll down just a bit).
Trump knows how the system works and has succeeded in it. He's the guy to have on our side!
