The Weekly Standard reported:
A top commander in southwest Asia reminded U.S military personnel stationed in Muslim countries in the Middle East of the restrictions placed on them during Ramadan. According to a report by the U.S. Air Forces Central Command Public Affairs, Brig. Gen. John Quintas, 380th Air Expeditionary Wing commander in Southwest Asia, said that the U.S. is committed to the concepts of tolerance, freedom and diversity.
But he added that soldiers should become more informed and appreciative of the traditions and history of the people in this region of the world

Why doesn’t the military educate the muslims on the joys of LGBT celebrations? Didn’t the Pentagon just get finished with some homosexual pride day or week or something?
Why not? You wouldn’t want the muslims to miss out on the fun, would ya?
Soon they will be required to join in on the prayers.
Local laws in these countries require non-muzzies to follow the same religious laws as muzzies. That means our troops have to comply or face arrest by those countries if caught violating those laws. You’re telling me that doesn’t constitute forcing them to abide by food and drink restrictions? Hopefully after the years our troops have had to put up with this horse$hit, they have become creative in finding ways to eat normal meals, gaining the sustenance they need to survive, and avoiding any legal problems.
makes ya wonder whose side he is on, eh?
Perhaps you should reread the article.
You must believe that we still have an acting constitution. Silly rabbit, that thing be dead.
When they come home, they'll be
willing to replace our derided cops and
whip Christians into shape.
Any Religion that feels it is their duty to physically punish someone for eating something or sometime is a damned cult.
I read it several times. No where is there anything that says that “US Troops (Are) Put on Drinking, Eating Restrictions for Ramadan”.
The title implies that the US command put the troops in Ramadan eating restrictions. Show me where it says that.
I don’t mind fooling the enemy, but let’s not fool ourselves.
During the 30-day religious celebration of Ramadan, even non-Muslims are expected to obey local laws regarding eating, drinking, and using tobacco in public.
Perhaps you should reread the article...
If I grab a bit of food and drink and consume in my private quarters, who's going to arrest me?
I assume "in public" means where other people can see you...
That still is BS, but nobody is making our solders abide by local laws in private...
Please note that this only applies to US personnel off-base and in public. This is a typical policy in Muslim countries as it tends to piss off the locals, who are fasting and uncomfortable.
If personnel stay on base, they can eat and drink as normal. And they can drink plenty of liquids if they are working hard off-base, so as not to get dehydrated. Most locals are just chilling out and working very little getting ready for a big dinner at sundown.
0 loves and respects the middle eastern death cult and hates the country that, like a bunch of a$$holes, elected him twice.

All the more reason to let those islamic hell holes sit and spin....
“I saw nothing in the article that says are troops are having to abide by the food restrictions.”
When the military leadership (and no doubt this is coming from above, the administration in turn) is “reminding” the troops to abide by the food restrictions, I kind of doubt they’re going to put up with any soldier that will refuse to obey the “reminder”.
“Local laws in these countries require non-muzzies to follow the same religious laws as muzzies.”
That’s very different than insinuating, as the title does, that US command put troops on Ramadan restrictions. The article does not say that.
So to fabricate that title from the content of the article is dishonest and does not serve our side, when most of us then repeat the lie and are called on it by the other side.
We should be smarter than that. There is plenty of real crap going on to keep us busy fighting against, we don’t need to fabricate more.
Sadly, I'm afraid you're right. When do the burnings of us heretics begin?
“When the military leadership (and no doubt this is coming from above, the administration in turn) is reminding the troops to abide by the food restrictions”
Again you’re making up stuff - where does it say that the troops should “abide by the food restrictions”??
You’re into speculations and extrapolations. If you can find some credible source that says that the troops have to abide by Ramadan restriction send it my way. This one sure doesn’t and your suspicion is not sufficient. (Personally I wouldn’t put it past Obama doing this, but what’s in this article doesn’t support it.)
So does this mean that no openly gay or LBGTXYZMICKEYMOUSE soldiers may serve in areas which observe Ramadan, since this is also a clear violation of the “host country’s” religious and social norms ?
Insanity.
