Gay marriage's big benefit is Social Security [more money out of the system]

The ruling will affect everything from access to spousal pension and retirement accounts, health benefits and more. But Social Security really is the headliner. Recognition of same-sex marriage in all 50 states will guarantee access to Social Security’s spousal and survivor benefits, which are the most valuable features of the program.

Just how valuable? Financial Engines, a large financial advisory firm, ran numbers recently for a hypothetical same-sex couple and found that marriage could be worth $343,000 in additional lifetime benefits.

Fortunately there’s mounds of money in ‘the lockbox’ for SSA to pay these new, unexpected obligations!

Seriously, when will we see a new estimate from the SSA trustees on when they default?

That’s what we needed, more financial obligation. After all, perverted sex is such a deserving cause.

Include the military.

Straight guys (and gays), and straight females (and lesbians) will be marrying each other for the extra money, and then “divorcing” when they get out.

And when incestuous marriage is allowed, what is to prevent grandma from “marrying” granddaughter to provide the spousal benefit for the rest of the granddaughters life?

The socialists just delivered the coup de grace to their beloved program.

Not really. There have been very few same-sex marriages. Almost half have ended in divorce.

It’s all about the tangibles, not the intangibles.

You seem kinda cynical, ansel12. So, it’s the money game, that bothers you?

I don’t know what you were trying to say.

It wasn’t cynical, it was pointing out what we will see, and I don’t know what you meant about “the money game”.

You were saying that straight soldiers, will be marrying for the money. That idea/attitude seems cynical.

Many will, marrying for the money is an old scam in the military, and today, when you can marry your best friend and roommate, then it will be done.

I said that both straight and gay military will marry, and then do a simple divorce on discharge.

That goes for friends that are in the military, and friends that aren’t.

However the lifetime is probably reduced as a consequence of health issues relating to the acts and the lifestyle

Hidden cameras reveal how US soldiers ‘shop’ for wives to get more pay, benefits
Oct. 2, 2014 at 4:42 AMJeff Rossen and Jovanna Billington
NBC News
It’s an open secret at military bases across the country: Soldiers looking for contract marriages. On Craigslist you’ll find dozens of ads, many so blatant that soldiers put the term right on the subject line, not even trying to hide it.

If you’re married in the military, you make more money and get better benefits. So soldiers from the Army, the Navy and all branches of the military pay women to marry them, just to get the perks on the taxpayer’s dime.

Jacobs, a military analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, says these soldiers aren’t looking for love; they want that marriage certificate. And it pays off: A married soldier can make tens of thousands of dollars more than a single one.

Rossen Reports producer Jovanna Billington was wired with hidden cameras for a meeting with the soldier who posted the ad, based at the Fort Stewart Army base in eastern Georgia.

The soldier, who is not being identified by NBC News, got right down to business. “You actually have to like write up an actual contract,” he said. “With all the parameters of what everybody wants.”

“So you’re getting more money from doing this?” Billington asked.

“Almost $1000 just for being married,” the soldier said. “And another $350 for BAS, which is base allowance for subsistence.”

“So you would want to do it like next week?” Billington asked.

“Well, if I could, I would do it today,” the soldier said. “We could just try to get this done.”

And what does the “wife” get out of the deal? “You get health care, and a lot more schools will take military spouses,” the soldier said. “If you need some money, then that’s not an issue.”

The soldier offered Billington $200 a month to start with: “Would that work for you? We’ll give you $200 for the first month just to start and then we’ll see how everything falls with bills and everything.”

“So this is a full business relationship, right?” Billington asked.

“You can see other people, you can do whatever you want,” the soldier said. “It’s like I’m not even here. You’re just getting free [stuff].”

“Commanders do not have the authority to prevent someone from getting married. Marriage is a personal, private decision, and “why” someone chooses to enter into a legal union is not a command issue. Rather, the issue is whether a service member can provide the necessary legal documents to the Service that he or she is married, thus entitling his/her spouse to dependent benefits.”

there are also obligations with so called gay "marriage"....like what one owns, the other does too...what one owes, the other one does too...

your partner sick?...needs lots of health care?....when you reach your limits, be prepared to fork over your house or declare bankruptcy....

I hope they still do blood tests on these heathens....

[more money out of the system]

This is what it has been about all along; money and benefits.

See ansel12's post about contract marriages in the military. I saw that in the Marine Corps, back in the 70's. I'm sure it's been going on forever.

Now homosexuals (and faux-homosexuals) (yes, I said that) can get "married" and their "spouses" can get government benefits, corporate benefits, green cards, you-name-it.

And a lot of it will be "contractual", with kickbacks to the "sponsor".

This is gonna be big on Craigslist!!!!

Then, think about this; if polygamy is legalized, a sponsor will be able to "marry" an unlimited number of "spouses" and they will all get benefits from the government or private employer.

Cloward-Piven, anyone? PS. In the case of corporate employers; this will chase more jobs overseas, as the cost of benefits eliminates profits. But some on FR will still blame NAFTA.

My mother receives a very nice pension as a retired public school teacher. She makes more money as a retired teacher than my wife makes working full time. Why can't I divorce my wife, have her marry my mother and we can all cohabitate and enjoy my mothers pension presumably for many decades after my mothers death?

Pensions are a funny thing, many an elderly Civil War veteran enjoyed a late life marriage to a young girl who was more interested in her new husbands pension than his undying love. The last Civil War pension paid to a veterans spouse was paid in 2003!

Imagine how many people are going to ‘go gay’ for a fat government pension.
