The Supreme Courts opinions in the Obergefell vs. Hodges case the majority opinion constitutionalizing same-sex marriage and the dissents can be read here. You will not be surprised that the majority opinion in Obergefell, written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, is full of gaseous eructations from the judicial pyloric, e.g., the right to marry is fundamental because it supports a two-person union unlike any other in its importance to the committed individuals. And who says a two-person union is unlike any other in its importance? This is groundless assertion.
You really must read the four dissenting opinions in the case. Even I am shocked by the bracing quality of the rhetoric and the analysis. If these justices are correct, this is a dark day for American democracy, and for the practice of traditional religion in America.

____________
God is the designer of marriage and the two-person union’s intent was to multiply by procreation. . . . how far we have strayed.

Someone should tell these people that we are a Representative Republic... not a democracy.
I can't envision any type of CWII happening.
How do you envision it starting?
“Democracy Is Dying; Persecution Is Coming”
Excellent headline. Says it all.
“How do you envision it starting? “
No one ever envisions a war starting. In 1928 or 1933 Germany no one thought of a war starting. In 1855, no one thought TWONA would start.
Democracy Is Dying; Persecution Is Coming.
Democracy is dying? Huh?
We’ve never had more democracy. We’ve voted for senators for 102 years. It seems more and more states host referendums for the people to enact statutes and constitutional amendments every year. Several states have joined NPV, the National Popular Vote movement to get around the federal nature of the Electoral College.
There is a high pitched contradiction at work in America, for oppression from our lords in Washington, DC has clearly grown these past 102 years in near lockstep with increased democracy.
No, the root cause of our oppressions is precisely democracy.
I beg to differ.
What we are seeing is the direct result of 'democracy'.
Remember, a democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what is for lunch.
The republic is already dead. We just haven't noticed.
And we’ll be bringing more than posters and placards this time.
Careful now. References to that book have been banned because the title has the word "Confederacy" in it.
When a side loses the battle, it’s usually because they have been stupider, lazier or more delusional than their opponent. I’m absolutely certain that conservatives will continue doing what they have been doing that netted us this state of defeat, being that they are obviously the kind of conservative that can’t be taught by history. The blame for the losses we incur can be found in any mirror.
Gay marriage and Obamacare would have both failed if put to a majority vote. This is not democracy.
“From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Party:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH”

Democracy is responsible for senate consent to 5+ anti-10th amendment Leftist dirtbags on the Supreme Court.
I believe we will all know it when we see it. :=)
Long live the Second Republic.
America was over when after four years of abject failure Obama was re-elected; as the French said after the surrender to Germany in 1940: “Not enough babies”. It really is as simple as that; the descendants of the Europeans who built this country will quietly disappear, and the Asians and Hispanics who are imported to replace them will then deal with these issues.
good points, although I would say there were people that saw ahead and predicted terrible events could arise. I guess I didn't phase the question correctly.
Assuming there will be some type of widespread conflict that occurs, say within 10 years, then what events do you see happening that would bring that about?
The only way I see it happening is if there is some type of total worldwide economic collapse that causes the Federal government to become paralyzed and go into open default (chaos). Then I can see the several States (if led by Warrior leaders) taking it upon themselves to take control and attempt to bring stability.
I cannot envision a situation whereby citizens can organize and lead some kind of revolt -- it is the stuff of movies (besides the Feds would relish the chance to exterminate such people and their families)
I see our future as one of a declining Republic that transforms into a third world decaying sewer overrun by third world anti-American illegals.
Yes, many people knew Hitler and other things in history would result in war. They wrote about them, although ignored by “historians”. I am predicting the events of our day will result in war, too. In history no one knew precisely the day shots would be fired but they knew shots would be.
I see our situation as Yosemite Sam running around with a lit match in the bowels of a ship loaded with kegs of gun powder. Who knows which powder keg goes off first but one will.
