BELGIUM (Christian Examiner) -- A 24-year-old woman in Belgium is set to die by euthanasia later this summer simply because she has felt since childhood that she wanted to die.
According to LifeSite News, euthanasia for psychological reasons is allowed in Belgium when a psychiatrist says a person's psychological pain cannot be relieved in a manner acceptable to the individual. "That means Laura (last name unknown) may be treatable, but Laura has decided that the only acceptable 'treatment' is death," the pro-life news service reports.
That is pretty sad, but she might regret her decision, when she sees what lies beyond the grave. By then, however, it will be too late.
This is insanity
Exactly. The left is insane.
Trans-mortal?
I can’t believe all ‘acceptable’ options has been considered.
Prayers that this woman will call upon the Name of the Lord for help in this life and salvation in the next.
Well, your tagline seems fitting.
If she’s healthy (and presumably able-bodied), why does she need help dying? Why not just do the deed herself?
Perhaps that would be considered practicing medicine without a license?
Such a sad situation, both for this young woman who sees nothing worth living for, and a nation in which this is considered tolerable.

I hope she changes her mind.
I spent roughly 3.5 years living in DC (leaving in 2013). Roughly every six weeks....some gal or guy will jump in front of the a Metro subway train and commit suicide. After having read over a couple of episodes....I got stuck one Saturday evening...waiting three hours while they cleared a jumper’s remains at the next station (where we would have traveled through).
I basically sat at a local pub...sipped through five or six drinks...waiting three hours for this clearance to occur (I didn’t have a car with me). When I finally got on the train and we went through the next area affected by this guy....I counted the number of cops, toxic clean-up people, and Metro employees around the scene....roughly forty people.
I did a lot of pondering after that event and came to this odd prospective. There are ‘special’ people out there....who have made up their mind to commit suicide, and they really want to involve as many people as possible. It’s almost like an opera-setting or some theater production to them. Maybe even their five minutes of fame (note: none of the DC papers ever name the ‘jumpers’ and reporting basically goes to a max of five lines now).
In this case in Belgium....I think it’s all just a game to involve people, the government, the anti-suicide-crowd, spectators, etc. Fifty years ago, after trying to make it a public scene.....some doctor or cop would have just confronted the individual and said....go home and just do it...don’t engage us or think we want to participate in your game. Something has happened over the past fifty years, and people seem to think that involving us will make it a better theater scene or bring the fat-lady to sing the end-song of the episode.
Turning this into some paperwork gimmick or theater/spectator event....for what? Personal entertainment? Where’s the value?
I suspect her father blamed her for everything, to the point where she believes she must pay an ultimate price.
Until the 1500s the lowlands (Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium) were one entity -- part of Lotharingia, all Frankish speaking peoples
With the Protestant reformation Belgium and the Netherlands split. But now both the countries have no religion, so the historical split makes no sense. They've also lost their culture and ethos, so they are wanderers, discontent with everything
Yes, if she even had a father at home. In any case, it is sad, and so unecessary. Naturarlly, I don't know anything about the situation. I just don't think doing one's self in, is the answer.
I wish somebody was in her life to show that she can make a contribution to society to pay back what she thinks she owes, rather Tha pay the price she wants to pay.
I can tell you that it is common in alcoholic homes that, those raised in one tend to blame themselves for everything that goes wrong in life.
Well, bye.
UnRest in Hell.
I don’t think that’s how God responds to a suicide.
Every one of us, with only a few exceptions, are living our lives that could be defined as suicidal. Whether it be lack of exercise, bad diet, a hard heart, overwork, or some other way.
Few of us are living our lives to the fullest in all respects.
Free will I suppose.
