As the nation’s largest retailer announced a ban on Confederate flag merchandise, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy challenged the chain to cease carrying assault weapons.

Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat who has backed numerous gun control measures on Capitol Hill during his career, called out Wal-Mart publicly on social media after the chain announced it would stop carrying items emblazoned with the Confederate icons.

First of all, Walmart is headquartered in Bentonville Arkansas, so where does a senator from effing CONNECTICUT get off lecturing this company? I think senators should be restricted in their comments ONLY to issues germane to their home states’ affairs, plus foreign policy. He wants to mess with our Second Amendment freedoms, let’s restrict his First Amendment freedom! Secondly, the gun used by this disgusting murderer was NOT AN ASSAULT RIFLE!!!!!, but an ordinary Glock handgun.

Yeah, because the closest thing I've seen to what idiots call an "assault rifle" is a Ruger 10-22. Nothing in the one here except deer rifles, shotguns and .22s in a loooong time.
