Except to our lords and masters-don’t hold your breath waiting to see them lead the way in having Section 8 housing built in their neighborhoods. That “diversity” thing is just for us peons.

This ruling opens up a huge can of worms. If disparate impact becomes a codified legal term, much more mischief is in the works.

The Federal government is illegitimate.

Yes. Well was it after the Bork drama? I think. Bork would have been so awesome. He did give us Scalia. GW gave us Souter. Ugh. But he did give us Thomas. I do understand it can be a mixed bag. But I suspect W wanted moderates that would satisfy conservatives. I think there was Presidential deception involved. I say that because of whats-her-name whom we tried to put forward. Was it Miers? Oh yes, Harriet. Something was really suspicious about that.

Speaking of Bork and Thomas, why does the left always fight like that but the right just lays down and lets the left run over them?

Nixon gave us Rehnquist. I don’t remember that event at all but the libs must have been fuming.

The Federal government is illegitimate.

And the SCOTUS has proven that they are a political, not legal, orgainization. They may have well said, “sure, it’s unconstitutional, but it’s too big to fail, so we support it with all of our authority and reputation”.

Which means they did to their reputation with this decision what the Nobel peace prize did to its reputation when they awarded the prize to Obama.

One of the big ideas to take from this particular ruling is how divorced our legal system (it has nothing to do with "justice", thus) has become from the concept of "intent". At one time, in most cases, intent was one of the required elements to convict someone of a crime. That is no longer the case in most legal dealings with our feral government.

This is fundamentally messed up. We're going to be paying with our liberty because of this ruling for years to come.

The justices ruled 5-4 that federal housing laws prohibit seemingly neutral practices that harm minorities, even without proof of intentional discrimination. The case involved an appeal from Texas officials accused of violating the Fair Housing Act by awarding federal tax credits in a way that kept low-income housing out of white neighborhoods.

The Trial (original German title: Der Process,[1] later Der Prozess, Der Proceß and Der Prozeß) is a novel written by Franz Kafka ... it tells the story of a man arrested and prosecuted by a remote, inaccessible authority, with the nature of his crime revealed to neither him nor the reader.
