He was a very cruel man indeed and no need in what he ordered or allowed to be done.
He thought he was stamping out rebellion forever by his sheer power. Yet, what he created, to this day, is much worse. Worse still is the attitudes he has instilled on both sides. He didn’t solve or prevent anything.
