WASHINGTON (AP) — Investigators are blaming mistakes by IRS employees — not a criminal conspiracy — for the loss of thousands of emails related to the tax agency's tea party scandal.
IRS workers erased 422 computer backup tapes that "most likely" contained as many as 24,000 emails to and from former IRS official Lois Lerner, who has emerged as a central figure in congressional investigations, according to IRS's inspector general.
The workers erased the tapes a month after IRS officials discovered that an untold number of Lerner's emails were lost. The IG says the workers were unaware of a year-old directive not to destroy email backup tapes.

This absolutely was no “mistake.” More lies and cover-up.
Try to use that excuse against the IRS and you will go to jail.
As far as I know, ignorance of a law isn’t a legal defense.
Put the one’s who are responsible in prison until they tell us who told them to do it.
Oops! We accidentally deleted exactly the emails needed for the investigation. Just bad luck. Nothing anyone could have done to prevent it.
This is clearly obstruction of justice, but nothing will happen because the gov. is absolutely corrupt.

There should be a “Nixon” rule where anybody who “loses” information is either impeached or jailed.

Courtesy of George Strait. Have posted these lyrics before, and as always no malicious intent meant toward Mr. Strait, but can not help but think about this song whenever I read dubious statements like these from Obama, Hitlery, Democrats, and certainly the IRS.
Stunning...just stunning the level of corruption oozing out of every pore of this gubbamint.
I realize there has always been corruption, secret conspiracies, greed. Just seems like it’s gotten oodles worse in the last couple of decades.
There is no more transparency. Everything is formulated in secrecy. Corporations and politicians are in cahoots. Foreign interest ahead of American citizens. Foreigners flooding the country in an effort to change the very fabric of our culture, our way of life, our standard of living.
It seems Americans are utterly powerless to stop all this. Heartbreaking.
