I know there are more than a few people don’t follow traditional routes into the Academies, but this guy is 25 years old?
I know of enlisted sailors who have gotten an appointment at Annapolis.
I believe you can enter West Point up until age 26. A lot of guys enlist in the Army after high school, do a few years as an enlisted soldier, and then enter West Point in their early 20's. Not sure if he did or not.
He could be prior enlisted, went to Prep School, or just waited a while. Entrance requirements are you must be at least 17 and younger than 23.
I've never had a comparable fetish to let everyone know I was "openly heterosexual."
In the photo he was wearing his class ring. That would make him at least a junior, when the photo was taken. Around 21 yo. The incident happen in 2013, which would put him around 23.
Many times if a student does not get appointed on the first try they either go to prep school or start somewhere else. When they get to he USMA they start all over again.
We had a guy transfer to Coast Guard after his sophomore year, poor bastard had to go through his first year swab summer crap all over again.
I believe Patton did a year at VMI before his appointment.
It says he was caught in 2013, and there is a pic of him with his ring, which kind of implies that he was a firstie in 2013. That would have had him graduating at 23.
Although it’s possible he was prior service and didn’t start at the academy until he was 20 or 21.
