Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is in San Francisco this weekend to be sworn in as president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors a position she says she'll use to advocate for fixes to Baltimore's entrenched problems.
"The systemic issues we have in cities ... are problems we cannot solve alone," she said in an interview. "I intend to use my role as president to advocate for those very specific needs, whether it's food access, education, poverty or neighborhood investment."
Rawlings-Blake will become the first African-American woman to hold the influential leadership position, and the first Baltimorean.

It's a nice feather in her cap ... but the people of Baltimore want her in Baltimore out doing things ... she needs to be focused on bringing Baltimore back after she brilliantly gave some of her feral constituents space to destroy!
(someone please post the Picard face palm)
Does she understand that CVS was the best "food access" that neighborhood had? Does she understand that poverty comes from a lack of jobs and that neighborhood investment depends on some expectation of a return on that investment? Rawlings-Blake has pretty much guaranteed at least two more decades without any opportunity in that neighborhood, which was her goal. They'll be voting democrat for another generation, with no hope for anything better than EBT cards, Obamacare, Obamaphones, and housing projects.
Meanwhile the good guy, the Governor of Maryland Larry Hoagn, just announced that he is battling an aggressive fast spreading cancer.
Please Lord let him outlast the idiots he was elected to battle
She left out her favorite specific need, giving rioters "the space to destroy, it's only property."
I presume that in the “US Conference of Mayors” there’s an implied adjective before “Mayors” i.e. “Democrat.”
What a complete affirmative-action bad joke the conference of mayors is. These fools should all be run out of office for bad judgement.
That’s like making Libya the head of the Human Rights Commission.
Maybe she can do for them what she’s done for Charm City!
More like a convention of wardens of the welfare state.
I become more convinced each day that at least 75% of government elected officials and employees are corrupt or incompetent - and at least 51% are both.
If we include the “ soft corruption” of not doing the job they are paid for, the percentage may be higher.
Good! So she'll be denouncing the failed, Dim/Socialist policies that have destroyed towns like Baltimore.
What I don’t understand .. how on earth did the “Mayors” vote for such a horrible person ..??
Are there really that many LIBERAL Mayors ..??????
In other words, gibsmedat.
Maryland “Freak State” DANG!
