GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
The Star Spangled Banner Verse Four (Click)
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

The Challenge of Transition June 22, 2015
Be strong and very courageous.
Joshua 1:7
After former professional athlete Chris Sanders suffered a career-ending injury, he told a group of military veterans that although he had never experienced combat, I understand the pressures of transitions.
Whether its the loss of a job, the loss of a marriage, a serious illness, or a financial setback, every major change brings challenges. The former athlete told the soldiers that the key to success when you are transitioning into a new way of living is to reach out and get help.
The book of Joshua is recommended reading whenever we find ourselves in transition. After 40 years of wandering and setbacks, Gods people were poised to enter the Promised Land. Moses, their great leader, had died, and Joshua, his assistant, was in charge.
God told Joshua to be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go (Josh. 1:7). Gods words of direction were to be the bedrock of Joshuas leadership in every situation.
The Lords charge and promise to Joshua apply to us as well: Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (v. 9).
He is with us in every transition.
Father, Im bringing You my trials and frustrations. You know each and every detail. Please comfort me as only You can, and provide exactly what I need for today. Help me give my unfulfilled expectations to You, trusting Youre working out a plan for me.
God remains faithful in every change.
:
From personal observation, Joshua knew that the Canaanites lived in strongly fortified cities (Num. 13:28-29). But Gods command was accompanied with a promise of victory: No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you (Josh. 1:5).

Kathy, I cannot recall a better Father's Day. It is also John-Man's Birthday - he's 19.
As it happened, John-Man went out for dinner with his Sweetie-Pie so I manned the grill with the assistance of my daughter Meg and son David.
We grilled 4 lbs of colossal shrimp followed by a septet of NY Strips. It was a memorable repast.
Getting used to the new grill - I have never seen a grill throw out so much heat on a relatively small number of coals. We filled the chimney starter - I thought I would have to add coals after cooking the shrimp, but I just slapped the steaks down - 14 minutes and perfectly cooked.
Mrs. MacNessa bought me a bottle of Single Malt Scotch - a new one to me - I will taste it with great anticipation - but not this evening.

I believe they did! Although there wasn’t the crowds that we had during the Mother’s Day frenzy. That’s ok...I’ll bet Bass Pro Shops were swamped. LOL!

Always special to me, he broke the sound barrier the day after I was born.
Some of the stuff he did when he was young was crazy, like using his fighter's guns to chop down a tree a rancher friend wanted gone, dumping belts of 30-06 overboard to the rancher kids so they could hunt during WWII during ammo shortages. That and buzzing his hometown.
An idol and hero always, even if being born did not inspire him!
