TURIN, Italy, June 21 (Reuters) - People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday.

Francis issued his toughest condemnation to date of the weapons industry at a rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the Italian city of Turin.

"If you trust only men you have lost," he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.

"It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn't it?" he said to applause.

He also criticised those who invest in weapons industries, saying "duplicity is the currency of today ... they say one thing and do another."

It is one thing for a Pope to believe in leftist causes (as they apply to government policy) and quite another to declare that gun manufacturers are not Christians. This guy seems to jump the shark every day.

I wonder if he’s ever heard of St. Gabriel Possenti, PATRON SAINT OF HANDGUNS!!!!

http://taylormarshall.com/2014/02/patron-saint-of-handguns-meet-st-gabriel-possenti.html

This pope won’t drive me from the Church, HE is not the Church. The church will still be here long after he’s gone. But I don’t care for him, have had a bad feeling about the guy since he stepped into the position, and my sense of foreboding about this guy has been justified. The fact that he is a jesuit is bad news anyway!

“What a fraud this pope is.”

Too bad Catholicism isn’t democratic enough for the faithful to be able to vote him out of office1

“This pope won’t drive me from the Church, HE is not the Church. The church will still be here long after he’s gone.”

You have to look deeper.

Who were those that selected him .....

Who are those that are advising him ....

The problems are not just with the Pope but are deeply embedded within the church.

Geez, when will this stuff stop from the Pope - I suppose (possibly) not until the next Pope? This one is truly a Democrat.

The Pope needs to send his Swiss bodyguards home. Pope thinks we don’t have the right to protect ourselves from evil? Then he shouldn’t either.

The Pope can show us the way... then Obama and Clinton and all our so-called elite leaders can drop their bodyguards too... THEN the rest of us will follow in a few years... if it works for them, we’ll follow.

Leftist Christians believe that being helpless in a hostile encounter adds to their holiness. I’ve talked with enough of them to say this with certainty.

So would the Pope have disapproved of the Crusades?

Forget the Crusades. Would the Pope have disapproved of the French police killing the terrorists that shot up the publisher's office four months ago?

The Quran explicitly orders Muslims to "take a sword and strike the unbelievers." The Pope then forbids his followers from resisting. It does not make any sense whatsoever, unless the Pope is concerned with convenience of Jihadis.

He’s stupid, a little gaga, very ideologically driven and surrounded by ideologues, and is rapidly turning into the laughing stock of the universe.

I was beginning to think he was the Antichrist or Peter the Roman, but now I see that he’s an elderly fool who s becoming an embarrassment even to the left.

Based upon his recent words and actions, not only do I have absolutely no respect for this man whatsoever, I consider him an enemy of Christianity and of religion in general.

I think the Catholic Church should lose its tax exempt status, at least until this Marxist a—hole politician is no longer it’s “leader”.

He is utterly despicable.

I do not think he is stupid. I think he knows exactly what he is doing. He is a Marxist and he is evil.
