HOUSTON About 130 Houston student will attend a new Arabic immersion school next year, where they will learn to speak Arabic as they learn to be truly global citizens.
With kids who learn Arabic, as a parent youre going to set them up for success, as a teacher youre going to challenge them to do the best they can, but that skill of learning Arabic and being fluent in it really can be life-changing for a Houston kid, Kate Adams, the principal of Houston Independent School Districts Arabic Immersion Magnet School, told Houston Public Media.
In addition to the students being fully functionally bilingual in Arabic and English, the bigger goal for me is that I want our students to be truly global citizens, she said. And so that doesnt just mean language fluency or cultural fluency. Its kind of how you look at the world and how you interact with the world.
Click 2 Houston reports Arabic is the second most common foreign language spoken by Houston students, presumably behind Spanish. The school is scheduled to launch next year with two pre-kindergarten classes focused on Modern Standard Arabic. Officials plan to add a new grade level each year until those students reach fifth grade.

The most likely reason for this is the number of Arabs who are in the oil business and in town for extended stays.
Retarded lies.
How can Spanish come in 3rd?
Why is it that all these broads who want to change the world are....uhmmmmm....unattractive. ..
Most of whom already speak English.
That bitch Adams ought to be flown and dumped right over Ramadi just to prove how “successful” Arabic and Islam immersion really is!
I’m all for it, as long as they also teach John Locke, Moses, and the Apostle Paul.
Another "kiss their a$$" gesture and maybe they'll decide "we're O.K. and that they really like us"
Gee.. I wonder WHY the Jews didn't use this technique with Hitler? /s

I agree with you. But I suspect the tenor of the teaching at these schools will be very sympathetic to our enemies and hostile to America and the American way. I simply do not trust public schools to do the right thing, ever. Not in today's political climate.
By the way, my son is at UC Davis majoring in Mandarin Chinese, minoring in Farsi. :)
Clearly indicates that anything else that someone says is irrelevant.

You were not put onto this Earth to live up to my expectations.

In the event that I do not live up to your expectations then you know what you can do. ;-)
