MADISON, Wis. (AP) Sports fans may have to leave their Blackhawks, Indians or Redskins gear at home if they plan on entering a Madison public school next year.
Starting this fall, public school students in Wisconsin's capital city cannot wear shirts, hats or other items that display the name, logo or mascot of any team that portrays a "negative stereotype" of American Indians. Those who do must change or face suspension or expulsion.

This violates free speech rights. What the Hell does “negative stereotype” mean? Every student should go to these schools wearing a Blackhawks or Redskins shirt. Free speech rights do not end at the schoolhouse door.
East High School in my city changed it’s nickname from Orientals to something else because it offended Asians.
The damn high school got the nickname Orientals because it is located in the EASTERN part of the city, and not because it referred to a race of people.
This country is going insane.
My good deed for the day!
Regards,
Bingo!
If, instead, they could get away with prohibiting the use of the letter "M," they would gladly do so.
Doesn't have to be sensible... just has to p**s us off / cause us to feel disenfranchized.
Regards,
No letter "M" has been hurt in the writing of this post.
Having attended UND myself, screw the NCAA. The Fighting Sioux, will always be the Fighting Sioux.
Are potatoes next - ?
The redskin potato - - - or is it ‘red skin’ - hmmmm
A few years back I was driving a lefty lady from Madison around our farmland countryside and met a school bus. This dumb cluck asked me “what’s a bus doing out here?”. I replied picking up kids for school. She said “children live on farms?”. I was absolutely floored, and said yes. Her reply was “how abusive”.
I just cannot fathom the brainwashing this nitwit had to have such an attitude.
Presumably, Che Guevara shirts, Mao shirts, La Raza shirts, ISIS shirts will be allowed. Welcome to Acirema where the guilty are rewarded and the innocent punished.
And don’t ask me why they put the star near Lubbock, instead of San Antonio.
Meanwhile the quality of American education continues to plummet in comparison to other nations which are spending a fraction of the amount of money thrown down the blackhole of American public education.
Kind of torques the Seattleites.
If that doesn't do it try this:
Nuclear weapons;
Designed and built in the US;
Tested in Japan!

Madison, WI school district bans all Indian logo.
FReep Mail meif you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
A number of years back our High School kids did a fundraiser selling t-shirts and sweatshirts with our ORIGINAL logo of ‘Warriors’ on them and the term, ‘Old School’ on the back. Parents and Grandparents lapped them up!
They raised the most money EVER in the history of the school for fundraisers. I will NEVER part with my Old School ‘Warriors’ hoodie! Heck, I’d like to be buried in it, LOL!
If other schools want to cash in on this, I would advise they do it QUICK before people are SHOT over this STUPIDITY or thrown in jail by the PC Police.
Ping to Post #34. Meant to include you. :)
Unreal! We’ll have to change the name of WISCONSIN as well!
Origin of the Name Wisconsin - Wisconsin is from an Algonquian Indian word that means “long river,” a Chippewa/Ojibwa/Anishinabe word, “Ouisconsin,” that means “grassy place,” or “gathering of the waters.”
I’m offended! *SNORT*
“She said children live on farms?. I was absolutely floored, and said yes. Her reply was how abusive.
I can’t wait for the Fall and we can hunt people like her for sport.

PING! More satire/idiocy than you can fit in one column! :)
That’s OK. I’m still struggling to get caught up after 10 days away.
Fox & Friends First mentioned a tornado touching down (or signted) in Dane Co. yesterday, but I see nothing else in the news. Are you OK?
What about FSU Seminoles gear? The Seminole tribe explicitly allows this usage.
