US Catholics ready to follow Pope's 'marching orders' on climate change

Leaders of the Catholic Church in America took their “marching orders” from the Pope’s encyclical on Thursday, fanning out to Congress and the White House to push for action on climate change.

The high-level meetings offered a first glimpse of a vast and highly organised effort by the leadership of America’s nearly 80 million Catholics to turn the Pope’s moral call for action into reality.

“It is our marching orders for advocacy,” Joseph Kurtz, the president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Archbishop of Louisville, said. “It really brings about a new urgency for us.”

So many Catholics now being their own pope and deciding what to believe and not believe. Don’t they know they are to submit “will and intellect” to their magisterium?

Right. Because the arguments of dolts are so good that supergeniuses like marmelstein can't answer them.

Logic much?

Not sure what you’re getting at, but I’m poor too.

Speaking yesterday during Mass in the chapel of his residence, the Domus Sanctae Marthae, Francis added that if Christians don’t dig deep and generously open up their wallets, they do not have “genuine faith”.

Some seem to be really grouchy.

If YOUR chosen religion's head man shows himself in a way that THIS guy has; wouldn't YOU be grouchy; too?

Only a poorly-instructed four-year-old Catholic would think that your question poses a real problem. But here’s the answer:

Nothing that the Pope has said, or could say, about economics or climate is part of the Magisterium of the Church. The “deposit of faith” closed with the death of St. John, and it contains nothing concerning economic science or climate science.

Not only is the teaching in the encyclical “non-infallible,” it has nothing to do with the Catholic Faith at all.

The teaching of the Catholic Church contains nothing about economic science and nothing about climate science.

The Earth has been cooling for 18 years and 6 months. Therefore, the Pope’s assertion that the Earth is warming is not merely an abuse of his office, it’s a hoax.

Nothing Pius X said about the teaching of the Pope or the bishops pertains to their opinions.

The Catholic Church is not the totalitarian, mind-controlling institution you like to pretend it is. This Pope has jumped the shark, and Catholics are perfectly at liberty to say so.

“Presbyterian Ronald Reagan:“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall...””

Reagan worked closely with Pope John Paul II. It has been said that Pope John Paul II inspired him.

In the U.S. liberals attacked Reagan constantly. He was continually attacked by politicians and the media for his belief that Communism was evil and that it would be defeated. The State Department strongly opposed his Berlin speech in which he said “tear down the wall” and tried to get him not to give it.

They post the same “gotcha” questions over and over and over and over. That is, they THINK their lame-o quips are “gotcha” questions.

Their favorite, of course, is their version of “Papal infallibility.” You know, the Catholic teaching that Catholics must give the assent of divine faith to every burp from the Pope.

The Pope is always the Vicar of Christ.

Sometimes the Pope teaches something that has to do with the Catholic Faith.

Sometimes the Pope says things that have nothing to do with the Catholic Faith.

Do you actually believe that your juvenile questions are “gotcha” questions?

Either he is or he isn’t Arthur. Catholics proclaiming Protestants their own popes then doing the same thing is duplicitous.

The hoax is in attributing it to St. Malachy, it is thought to be a forgery because the popes who lived prior to the discovery of the prophecy fit really well into the prophecy, the subsequent ones do not

There are also other objections, such as:

* The prophecies are written in bad Latin. However St. Malachy, being an Archbishop, was probably pretty good in Latin, given that it was the language of knowledge and prayer at his time.

* It does not seem likely that the Catholic Church will be ever persecuted. This might have been seen as a possibility in 1590, but today we know better. Organizations are better subverted from the inside. That's what we are witnessing - not only in Vatican, but also in Washington.

It contains nothing of the assumption of Mary and the requirement to believe it either. Duplicitous again.

I will say it one more time, you don’t know what you are talking about.

White Catholics as a whole tend to be conservative by about 50% to 40%. Practicing Catholics are far more conservative than nominal Catholics who do not attend church or practice their faith.

Catholics have led and continue to lead in the defense of the family, the defeat of Communism and totalitarianism and the defense of innocent unborn children.

Do you know how the majority of Catholics vote in America? You know they voted for Obama don’t you?

Do you know why it was so important for the left and the democrats to rewrite the immigration laws to important Catholics by the 10s of millions?

How do you think these latest efforts by their European leadership, will affect the voting of the Catholic denomination?

You can’t ignore the facts, we know how the majority of Catholics vote, so does your Pope.

He knows that he is working to keep the Catholic vote in the democrat column.
