US Catholics ready to follow Pope's 'marching orders' on climate change

Leaders of the Catholic Church in America took their “marching orders” from the Pope’s encyclical on Thursday, fanning out to Congress and the White House to push for action on climate change.

The high-level meetings offered a first glimpse of a vast and highly organised effort by the leadership of America’s nearly 80 million Catholics to turn the Pope’s moral call for action into reality.

“It is our marching orders for advocacy,” Joseph Kurtz, the president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Archbishop of Louisville, said. “It really brings about a new urgency for us.”

I never mentioned Galileo. God had nothing to do with it. And geocenticity was the consensus just as AGW is today. So what exactly is the problem?

So the Pope is a Marxist tool..... nobody’s perfect...
Lots of imperfect people these days....

1) Barry O’bama...
2) Most all of Congress...
3) The Supremes..
4) Pretty much every federal judge..
5) Joint Chiefs of Staff..
6) The entire White House from Prez to the lowest handmaiden..
7) The entire Executive Branch.. from the Top to the most meager prostitute and gigolo..
8) All the Faux Journalists..
9) All Holly-Weirdos...
10) College Professors of any subject..
11) Most all Unionized teachers..
12) Members of ANY Union.. and supporters..
13) Any lawyer.. politician.. or lobbyist..
14) ETC....

** What do you do about it?.....
Only one thing.. try to be less imperfect yourself..
BUT; it’s damned hard if you’re ME....
I resort to prayer.. but thats me..

**

Anglican Priest, Archbishop, and "Primate of all Ireland." James Ussher. Not a Romanist. In fact, he made a proclamation of his own in 1626:

"The religion of the papists is superstitious and idolatrous; their faith and doctrine erroneous and heretical; their church in respect of both, apostatical; to give them therefore a toleration, or to consent that they may freely exercise their religion, and profess their faith and doctrine, is a grievous sin."

If so, then why couldn’t you say how?

The fact is that the leader of that denomination was speaking to all of his members, and the majority of that denomination in America, votes left already.

Climate change is a religion for the left. If the Catholics want to get rid of thousands of years of a religion based on God and Jesus for a hoax then let them rot.

Unless this Marxist man-pleaser turns out to be an antichrist.

Might as well embrace Communism then. I’m sure the fact they are godless atheist is okay now.

Meanwhile, try some of these names:

Copernicus, Honore Mendel, Lemaitre, William of Ockham, Bernard Lamy, Roger Bacon. The Wikipedia list of only scientist-priests is unusually long. It doesn’t include Catholic scientists who were sponsored by the Church.

” The dolts do no want to know about Papal infallibility. You can explain it over and over again in the same manner you would try to teach an inbred dog to do tricks. It’s basically worthless.” ———

The dolts can read the long thing in its entirety on the Vatican website. Or not. They will, regardless, know more about it than the Pope himself who wrote it. LOL! They don’t have the time to read it, but can blather through a thread for sometimes days, sharing their incontinence on Catholicism. Go figure. Hate floats, I guess.

There are the perennials here who always know more about Catholicism, and really everything else, than the Catholics do, or in other cases and subjects as others do who are actually in the swim.

They wouldn’t be caught dead even listening to, never mind agreeing with, a Catholic. Half of them are EX’s, who missed their catechism classes entirely, and who have probably stormed out of the Church based upon the discovery that their opinion means squat to the Church, and that the Church, unlike the protestant cults, is not a democracy, beholden to their petty preferences. We are the Church. Failed and sinners, all, but that’s us. They’ve been
!issed about that fact, since the beginning.

As for Pope Francis. Poor Francis. He has been duped by those much craftier than he. Faith and morals is his to express, but political suppression even under some other name is not his charge. The Church has suffered worse.

But I see you do not address the broader issue: even if not covered as an infallible pronouncement, this encyclical causes actual harm.

who, exactly, on this thread is saying that it does not....

I’m sure you right!

I think some of the dolts here are like the Protestants I ran across as a child - they thought I was a spawn of the devil and refused to talk to my mother, father or brother. These were Methodists, I’m sorry to say. I actually WAS a spawn of the devil but not in the way they meant.

Considering the number of Catholic sects we have now as opposed to 1455

There are not more Catholic "sects" now than in 1455. Communities within the church are fully obedient, or they don't survive. The Orthodox Churches would find your characterization offensive: they are not "sects" of the Roman Church and never have been.

Doctrinal differences aside, the statement is incorrect as it applies to the Orthodox Churches, which split with Rome in 1054, five centuries before the Reformation and almost as long before the ascension of the first Borgia Pope.

when religion is imposed on society, it is natural to have a cross section of the population as mambers
